Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll deliver complex code solutions. You’ll support the build and deployment pipeline and when necessary, diagnose / solve production support or on-call issues. You’ll contribute to overall system design, architecture, security, scalability, reliability, application performance and provide end-to-end support.

What is your background? 

− A Computer Science degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience − 5+ years of experience in software development − Proficient in multiple programming languages, technologies, and frameworks. 

− Advanced knowledge in system and data architecture, data modeling, and design and capable of architecting and designing at the application or service level using well-accepted design patterns  

− Able to review platform designs for strength of engineering solutions, namely performance, sustainability, and iterative development potential.  

− Experience with common software engineering tools (e.g., Git, Jira, Confluence)  

− Experience successfully producing consistent, highquality results.  

− Comprehensive knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns, system architecture and design patterns 

 − Advanced understanding of development methodologies and processes  

− Kubernetes Cluster lifecycle management— Experience in running multi‑cluster Kubernetes environments, including node pool strategy, provisioning, scaling, upgrades, monitoring/observability, policy/config changes, incident response, backups/DR, and application runtime operations. 

− Hybrid cloud infrastructure — Experience in designing and building infrastructure across GCP, AWS, and on‑prem platforms such as OpenStack, with an understanding of cloud networking, IAM models, and workload placement tradeoffs. 

− Automation tooling and scripting — Experience building automation for infrastructure and platform workflows using modern tooling and strong programming and scripting using Golang and Python. 

− Security and Compliance — Familiarity with encryption standards (TLS 1.2+), logging, secrets management, auditability, and compliance aligned security controls for production workloads (PCI, HIPAA). 

− Linux, networking, and storage fundamentals — Solid understanding of Linux systems, core networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, DNS, firewalls, load balancing), and foundational storage primitives (block, file, object, CSI drivers), with the ability to troubleshoot performance and connectivity issues across the platform stack. 

 − Engineering collaboration tooling — Experience using workflow and documentation platforms such as JIRA, Confluence, Lucid, and similar tools to manage work, communicate technical designs, and maintain clear operational documentation across engineering teams. 

 

What is the work?  

− Build, operate, and manage the lifecycle of a geographically distributed fleet of Kubernetes clusters supporting core business functions across on-prem, public cloud, and edge locations. 

− Develop platform capabilities and automation that simplify cluster provisioning, upgrades, configuration, security hardening, workload management, and day-2 operations at scale. 

− Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity, accelerate troubleshooting, and enhance platform automation. 

− Apply Test-Driven Development and Behavior-Driven Development practices where appropriate to improve software quality and reliability. 

− Implement and continuously improve security controls, encryption standards, secrets management, audit logging, and compliance-aligned policies supporting production workloads, including PCI and HIPAA requirements. 

− Define and measure SLIs/SLOs, establish effective monitoring and observability, evaluate cluster and platform health, optimize resource utilization, and drive performance and reliability improvements. 

− Identify opportunities to improve platform resilience, scalability, supportability, and developer experience through automation and data-driven decision-making. 

− Work independently on complex technology initiatives with limited guidance while demonstrating ownership and accountability for outcomes. 

− Lead and mentor engineers in coding, configuration, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and platform engineering practices. 

− Evaluate technical designs and recommend solutions that balance reliability, security, scalability, operational complexity, and business needs. 

− Anticipate and communicate technical risks, blockers, dependencies, delays, and operational impacts before they require escalation. 

− Collaborate across engineering, infrastructure, networking, security, application, and business teams to resolve issues and deliver capabilities that span multiple technology domains. 

− Maintain clear technical documentation, architecture diagrams, operational runbooks, and workflow definitions, and foster a culture of documentation and knowledge sharing. 

− Recommend and drive improvements to engineering processes, standards, and tooling that increase team effectiveness and align with organizational and company goals. 

− Contribute to platform strategy and roadmap development by identifying gaps, evaluating emerging technologies, and proposing enhancements that improve the platform and the teams that depend on it.
