Job SummaryThe Senior Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain software solutions for molecular diagnostics applications. This role will work within and across Agile Scrum teams, serve as a technical and domain owner for key business modules, and contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, automation, documentation, and deployment processes.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain software applications, including prototyping, coding, testing, unit testing, test automation, and documentation.
- Establish new and enhance existing software design, development, build, and packaging processes.
- Deliver stable application builds with strong test coverage.
- Follow established software development lifecycle (SDLC) and source control processes.
- Perform risk management activities to minimize customer impact resulting from software defects.
- Work within and across Agile Scrum teams to develop scalable software solutions.
- Provide technical and domain ownership for key business modules within core applications.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of software development, testing, and delivery practices.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or another STEM discipline with 8+ years of software development experience; OR
- Master's degree with 6+ years of related work experience; OR
- Doctoral degree with 3+ years of related work experience.
- Experience designing and developing web applications using Java, Spring Framework, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience debugging and testing applications in Windows or Linux environments.
- Working knowledge of Angular, Node.js, React, JavaScript, XML/JSON, and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
- Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
- Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience upgrading applications from AngularJS to newer versions of Angular.
- Experience with database design using relational databases.
