The Integrated Vehicle Test (IVT) team is responsible for the design, implementation and support of Leo's satellite test infrastructure. Our systems are a mission critical, and are used to determine final flight-readiness of Leo's satellites before shipment and integration into the launch vehicle. The team's scope spans resilient production infrastructure, state-of-the-art automated test systems, test development and execution tools, and innovative data science and AI tools.
As the leader of the IVT Software organization, you will define the long-term vision for the team and its products, as well as hiring and structuring the team to succeed. The candidate must have expertise with modern development practices and will have demonstrated capability to deliver best-in-class software systems that solve complex hardware/software interactions and data analysis problems.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead a multilayered organization of 20+ software engineers, data scientists, managers and TPMs.
- Build, lead and manage a diverse team of software engineers and scientists focused on development of mission critical infrastructure.
- Manage the software lifecycle of all IVT software products from concept to operations, and deliver infrastructure, services and tooling used by R&D and manufacturing teams to determine flight readiness of Leo's satellite hardware.
- Lead cross-organization initiatives across terrestrial and space environments.
- Provide technical guidance for the team in the design of mission critical systems.
- Define team growth expectations and organization strategy.
- Define, manage and monitor KPIs for IVT systems
- Conduct cause of error analysis and drive issue resolutions to improve team and process performance.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of engineering experience
- 5+ years of engineering team management experience
- 10+ years of software development experience
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment
- Experience in design and validation of hardware/software systems
- Solid understanding of Engineering and Testing fundamentals
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience in development of test plans and protocols related to established Space Hardware test processes (GEVS / SMC-S-016). Experience in development of test software to enable space hardware testing programs.
- Hands-on experience with development and testing of software for complex integrated robotics systems, or autonomous surface, air or space vehicles.
