Full Job Description
Labcorp is seeking a Sr Software Developer to join the OmniSeq team in Buffalo, NY.

Work Schedule: This is a full time, exempt (salaried) position. The standard work schedule is five days per week, with shifts occurring between Monday and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Specific workdays may vary based on business needs. Saturday availability is required to support operational continuity.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications supporting clinical, bioinformatics, and operational initiatives.
  • Collaborate with clinical informatics, bioinformatics, IT teams, and business stakeholders to develop analysis tools, user interfaces, data visualization solutions, and customer-facing web applications.
  • Assist with project planning, technical solution evaluations, and software design activities.
  • Gather and analyze business and technical requirements to support application development.
  • Develop work estimates and support project scheduling activities.
  • Coordinate with team members, management, and end users to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Organize application releases, including build coordination, deployment activities, and release note publication.
  • Provide operational support for end users and technical guidance to development team members.
  • Contribute to software development best practices, coding standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
  • 5 or more years of experience developing applications using Java.
  • 5 or more years of experience developing web applications using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and JSON.
  • 5 or more years of experience developing applications using Spring or Spring Boot frameworks.
  • 5 or more years of experience working within software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
  • 5 or more years of experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or Oracle and object-relational mapping technologies such as Hibernate.
  • 3 or more years of experience in a healthcare, life sciences, diagnostics, or regulated industry environment.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering.
  • 5 or more years of experience developing applications using TypeScript or React.
  • 5 or more years of experience working with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
  • 1 or more years of experience supporting Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • 1 or more years of experience working within regulated environments governed by 21 CFR Part 11, CLIA, or HIPAA requirements.
  • 1 or more years of experience developing software solutions supporting bioinformatics or life sciences applications.

About the Role

The Sr Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting software solutions that advance OmniSeq's precision oncology and molecular diagnostics initiatives. This role partners with clinical informatics, bioinformatics, IT, and business stakeholders to create innovative applications, data visualization tools, and customer-facing solutions that support both clinical diagnostics and research efforts. The position plays a key role in delivering high-quality software while promoting engineering best practices, operational excellence, and continuous innovation across the organization.

Pay Range: $95-115k

All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data.
