Full Job Description
At Dolby Laboratories, we investigate perceptual aspects of the human visual system and turn what we learn into technologies and products for improving perceived video/image quality. Understanding the relationship between science, art, and engineering is fundamental to doing this well. We are looking for a motivated and energetic researcher to join our team.

We are specifically looking for a talented and inventive individual to research aspects of the human visual system and design image processing algorithms that produce spectacular experiences. You will conduct research related to color appearance and human perception, design and participate in user studies, and invent, prototype, implement and evaluate novel image processing algorithms.

Responsibilities
  • Research state-of-the-art computer vision and machine learning algorithms and prior art in the field of human perception and color science
  • Create demos and run experiments to quantify and/or validate algorithm design and human perception attributes
  • Invent, design, and develop computer vision and machine learning algorithms
  • Write software that is efficient, modular, bug free, understandable to others and well documented
  • Document and present findings in a cohesive manner including both internal and external publication platforms

Qualifications
  • A Master's or PhD degree in Imaging or Color Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
  • Ability to prototype quickly, with adept critical thinking skills
  • Experience designing unique computer vision and machine learning algorithms
  • Understanding of color science and human perception
  • Proven track record of journal publications is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented work ethic


The Atlanta Area base salary range for this full-time position is $133,500-$163,000, which can vary if outside this location,plus bonus, benefits, and some roles may also include equity. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, competencies, experience, market demands, internal parity, and relevant education or training.
