Based in San Jose, CA, this role provides strategic oversight for facilities operations across approximately 12 additional locations throughout the United States.

As part of CBRE's Facilities Management function, you will ensure the efficient operation, maintenance, and performance of assigned assets while partnering closely with Property Managers to support capital planning, repairs, preventative maintenance programs, and long-term investment strategies. The role requires strong leadership, operational excellence, and the ability to manage multi-site facilities initiatives across a geographically dispersed portfolio.

What You Will Do
  • Provide senior-level leadership to Facilities Managers and their teams, fostering employee development through coaching, training, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Leverage extensive knowledge of facilities management operations, business objectives, and cross-functional partnerships to drive team and organizational success.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve complex technical, operational, and business challenges across a geographically dispersed portfolio.
  • Evaluate decisions through both a regional and organizational lens, understanding their broader impact on business operations and client satisfaction.
  • Continuously improve existing processes, procedures, and operational standards to enhance service delivery, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for facility operations, maintenance programs, and capital improvement projects across multiple regions.
  • Conduct regular site visits and facility inspections, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while identifying opportunities for operational improvements and cost savings.
  • Manage and optimize operating and capital budgets, including forecasting, variance analysis, financial reporting, and expenditure tracking across multiple locations.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and leading discussions related to facilities strategy, performance, and issue resolution.
  • Oversee vendor and contractor relationships, negotiating contracts and ensuring high-quality, cost-effective service delivery.
  • Champion environmental health and safety initiatives, promoting a culture of safety and regulatory compliance across all facilities within the portfolio.
  • Lead advanced training programs focused on maintenance operations, repair procedures, safety protocols, and facilities management best practices.
  • Drive high-level problem-solving and decision-making, addressing complex organizational challenges and implementing innovative solutions where established processes may not exist.
  • Model and promote CBRE's RISE values, positively influencing stakeholders and fostering collaboration to achieve shared business objectives.
  • Travel approximately 10% within the assigned region and across the national portfolio to support facility operations, client engagement, team development, and strategic initiatives.
What You Will Need
  • Bachelor's degree preferred with 5-8 years of relevant facilities, operations, or property management experience. In lieu of a degree, an equivalent combination of education and professional experience will be considered. Prior people management experience is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in talent management, including recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, mentoring, performance management, employee development, and retention strategies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information, set clear performance expectations, influence stakeholders, and navigate sensitive or challenging situations.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with experience motivating and developing teams to achieve operational objectives and drive results across multiple functions and business areas.
  • Ability to think strategically while balancing day-to-day operational priorities in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations, identify solutions, and make informed business decisions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with the ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Solid financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasts, variance reporting, and capital expenditures.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to perform financial analyses and calculate percentages, ratios, forecasts, and other business-related metrics.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization while effectively managing client, vendor, and contractor partnerships.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 10% to support facilities operations, client meetings, site inspections, and leadership initiatives across multiple U.S. locations.
