The Quality Program Management Team is dedicated to ensuring quality requirements are met for each program within Blue Origin. The team works as a conduit of information from the program back to the site quality organizations. This role is the Quality Program Manager for the New Glenn Upper Stack (Stage 2, Stage 3, and Payload Accommodations) Programs and will interface with the site Quality organizations, the New Glenn Program Office, and both internal and external customers. This role is part of the Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance team, which focuses on monitoring and assessing processes that guide Blue Origin design, manufacture, and operations, ensuring system safety engineering, environmental health and safety, product integrity, and continuous improvement processes serve the Blue Origin Mission and Vision.

Responsibilities

• Anomaly Investigations: Collaborate closely with Mission Assurance on complex failure investigations and mission anomalies, leading the execution of return-to-flight and systemic corrective action efforts that impact the upper stack.

• Customer & Program Alignment: Serve as the direct quality interface for commercial customers, while maintaining tight alignment between the internal Quality organization (design, production, supplier quality, test, and flight operations) and the New Glenn upper stack programs.

• Government Interface Coordination: Support National Security Space Launch (NSSL) certification efforts and compliance by coordinating seamlessly with our internal government quality liaison (this role does not have direct government customer interaction).

• Data & Trend Analysis: Formulate agenda structures, maintain data dashboards, and develop presentation materials for program Corrective Action Boards (CABs) to monitor nonconformance trends across vehicle builds.

• Nonconformance Management: Oversee the nonconformance workflow. Ensure that nonconformance corrections are appropriately executed as dispositions, while opening standard corrective action tickets to address issues with known root causes.

• Continuous Improvement: Champion continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing AS9100 QMS standards to mature the overall Quality Control system.

Qualifications

• B.S. in engineering or technical field

• 8+ years' experience in a manufacturing field with at least 3 years in a quality engineering role

• Demonstrated experience supporting launch vehicle development, payload integration, or upper-stage spacecraft systems

• Strong understanding of root cause analysis methodologies and Corrective Action Board (CAB)

• Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 Quality Management System and/or related quality systems and programs

• Well-versed in AI tools/applications for quality and process improvement, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply them

• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Desired

• Prior experience acting as a primary interface for commercial aerospace payload customers.

• Advanced degree (M.S. in Engineering or MBA)

• Demonstrated ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion

• Experience developing quality assurance plans for proposals and program execution

• American Society of Quality, Certified Quality Engineer certification

• Six Sigma Green, Black Belt, or comparable certification
