The Sr. Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading the company's overall quality strategy across multiple manufacturing facilities. This role ensures product quality, process consistency, supplier performance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement through strong technical leadership and quality system governance.
This position provides leadership to plant QC teams and Quality Engineers, manages customer and supplier quality issues, oversees ISO quality management systems, and drives structured root cause problem solving to reduce losses and improve operational performance. The role also serves as the primary owner of ISO system integrity, including documentation control, audit readiness, and support during internal and external audits.
In addition, this role acts as the technical liaison for key suppliers, including paint vendors and other critical material providers, ensuring alignment on specifications, performance expectations, and corrective actions.
Key Focus AreasQuality Leadership- Lead company-wide quality strategy across all manufacturing locations.
- Conduct monthly plant quality reviews and drive accountability for performance improvements.
- Provide technical direction and leadership to QC Managers, Quality Engineers, and field inspection teams.
- Establish standardized quality practices and ensure consistent application across all facilities.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives targeting top quality losses and systemic issues.
- Serve as escalation point for complex technical quality challenges.
Quality Systems & ISO Management- Own and continuously improve the ISO quality management system across all plants.
- Ensure ongoing ISO compliance and readiness for internal, customer, and third-party audits.
- Lead audit preparation and corrective action management, including documentation and evidence collection.
- Maintain controlled, current, and standardized quality documentation (SOPs, work instructions, records).
- Oversee document control processes aligned with ISO requirements.
- Lead quality-related change management processes impacting systems and controls.
Customer & Claims Quality- Oversee claims review and approval processes, including Quality Claims Administrator activities.
- Lead investigations into customer complaints and non-conformances.
- Drive structured root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Implement systems to reduce repeat quality incidents and improve customer satisfaction.
Supplier Quality Management- Act as technical liaison with mills, coating suppliers, chemical vendors, and key material providers.
- Lead supplier quality reviews, technical protocol alignment, and performance improvement efforts.
- Drive supplier corrective actions and monitor effectiveness.
- Evaluate and oversee quality performance of external processors (slitters, levelers, coating partners).
- Track supplier quality trends and warranty exposure.
Plant Technical Support- Provide technical support for coating operations, lab testing, and process control.
- Support plant-level troubleshooting and resolution of quality issues.
- Drive standardization of lab practices and testing methodologies across sites.
Quality Team Development- Lead and mentor plant quality leadership and engineering teams.
- Develop and implement training programs to strengthen quality competency across roles.
- Build succession plans for key quality leadership positions.
Data, Systems, and Reporting- Oversee quality data systems, reporting tools, and system integration efforts (including ERP alignment).
- Develop and maintain dashboards for claims, defects, and key quality KPIs.
- Ensure centralized, accurate, and controlled quality data management.
- Monitor performance trends and drive data-informed corrective actions.
Foundational ExperienceRequired Qualifications & Experience: To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Quality, or related technical field preferred.
- 10+ years in manufacturing quality leadership.
- Multi-plant quality management experience preferred.
- Strong background in ISO quality systems and audit management.
- Experience with supplier quality programs, including technical vendor management.
Desired Qualifications: To be considered an ideal candidate, you should possess some or all of the following qualifications:
- Metals, coating, roll forming or industrial manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of ASTM coating tests

Work EnvironmentThe employee will be required daily to enter areas that are near moving mechanical parts, with occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals, and extreme cold or heat. The noise level in the work environment is considered moderate and may require the use of hearing protection. The employee will be required to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when accessing certain manufacturing areas.
Travel required across BCP locations (25-50%).
Must be available to support commissioning, startups, and critical production events, including off-hours when required.
