The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Responsibilities:

With limited direction from department leadership and administrators, Utilizes knowledge of URMC systems, operational structures, clinical workflows and processes, to provide Project Management (PM) services, including analytical, operational, application, infrastructure, budgeting and consultative services for URMQI projects and programs designed to improve Medical Center systems and operations resulting in more effective and efficient use of resources, improved patient care and reduced costs where applicable. These projects are typically large scale and enterprise wide.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Project Management
  • Utilize with consistency, project management methodology and tools, defines/reviews the objectives, scope, benefit, budget (as applicable), and success factors of the projects and confirms leadership commitment to the projects.
  • Advanced project management planning and coordination for multi-layered dependent major and dependent sub-major projects and associated integral workflows and training.
  • Management of end to end project methodology from developing strategic plan to facilitating achievement of identified goals.
  • Ensures project is delivered within approved budget, schedule, and contingency and meets quality standards.
  • Canvasses team to identify all project risks, develops mitigation strategies/plans and works to have strategies in place should they be needed.
  • Develops and executes a transparent project communication plan
  • Negotiates conflict resolution when needed between team members or product owners.
  • Consistently utilizes escalates plan in timely and appropriate manner
  • Utilizes motivation techniques to ensure project team momentum toward reaching respective milestones and goals.
  • Negotiates with Management and/or Project Sponsor to obtain key resources or materials.
  • Drive project team alignment by preparing comprehensive, pre-read agendas and facilitate discussions that lead to actionable outcomes.
  • Proactively structure and facilitate meetings to drive consensus, define next steps, and achieve completion of action items with clear, documented closures


Consulting/Coaching

Utilize project management tools and protocols to assess current state, determine scope of the projects, through collaboration with the executive project sponsor, key clinical users, and Inter-Inter-Intradepartmental stakeholders
  • Develops implementation approaches, creates and manages an end-to-end project plan utilizing standard PM tools and deliverables
  • Manage and facilitate strategic communications and planning required for implementing enterprise-wide foundational complex, integrated clinical and layered technological solutions
  • Manage, facilitate, and coordinate the development of workflows to integrate with operations, clinical process relevant to specific projects.
  • Facilitate transparent communication with Key multi service line and departmental stakeholders, staff and respective leadership. This includes coordinating agendas, project plans, meeting summaries, issue resolution/mitigation tracking, appropriate escalation, prioritize and gain approvals as indicated
  • Facilitate analysis for plan integration with appropriate stakeholders, clinical specialty groups, and leadership to achieve device integration strategic plans.
  • Advanced benchmarking experience, to include coordination and facilitation of internal and external institutional benchmarking, leading collaborative teams on site and remote detail evaluation, requirements, strategy-setting initiatives.
  • Creates alternative/cost-effective/creative solutions and uses and develops cost/benefit analyses
  • Keeps current with business and strategic goals, University service providers and technological environment/architecture
  • Communicates and educates at the user's level, in the context of the user's business environment
  • Ability to assess/evaluate appropriateness of various proposed solutions
  • Building and maintaining internal departmental relationships


  • Maintains PM, clinical and technical expertise. Provides troubleshooting skills as needed.
  • Serves on committees and chairs and attends meetings as requested.
  • Follows all PM administrative standards


Additional projects as assigned
  • The project manager supports miscellaneous projects on an as needed basis. Responsibilities will be similar in nature as those listed above.


MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree required (Business, Computer Science/related field preferred)
  • Five years of professional project management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to take responsibility for multiple projects in a diverse department structure and show initiative in making suggestions and decisions required.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage competing demands; must be able to prepare and present materials clearly to all levels of the department required.
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, including written communication required.
  • Strong analytical skills and strong attention to detail required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office suite Excel spreadsheet creation, data analysis uses, and ability to quickly learn new systems, programs, and /or software required.
  • Knowledge of institutional policies and procedures related to sponsored programs, preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, detail-oriented, and ability to work well in a team environment required.
