Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Scope of Position:
The Senior Technology Project Leader plans and drives execution of technology and product development projects that deliver value-aligned solutions from concept through manufacturing readiness. The role partners closely with Technology, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Product teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget using clear, concise, and effective communication.

Senior Technology Project Leaders lead cross-functional project teams, proactively manage risks and issues, and support sound decision-making to enable successful execution while balancing technical requirements, business needs, and resource constraints.

Responsibilities:
• Project Delivery and Execution: Plans and drives execution of assigned technology projects to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Leads cross-functional core project teams and coordinates contributions across engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain functions
• Technical and Business Alignment: Develops sufficient understanding of product and process technical designs to identify risks, gaps, or misalignment with customer or market needs
• Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Communicates project status, risks, and key decisions to stakeholders in both formal and informal settings
• Project Management Practices: Applies standard project management methods and tools consistently, and ensures project documentation is completed and maintained according to organizational standards

Travel Requirements
• Able to travel domestically and internationally based on project needs- up to 25% max

Qualifications & Requirements

Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering , Science, Technology or Mathematics (STEM)
• 5+ years of experience in product development, technology development, or technical project leadership roles required

Desired Skills and abilities:
• Project management certification (PMP or equivalent) preferred
• Advanced degree (MS or MBA) preferred
• Experience in manufacturing processes related to passive optical products preferred: Automated and manual assembly; Injection molding; Sheet metal fabrication; Optical fiber termination
• Knowledge of passive telecommunication and data center product design, application, testing and/or industry standards preferred

Locations:
• Hickory, NC or Keller, TX

This position does not support immigration sponsorship.

The range for this position is $132,589.00 - $182,310.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
