How You'll Make an Impact:

Using your knowledge, skills and abilities, you will provide project leadership during all plant engineering project phases. This role requires a self-motivated person with a positive attitude, strong organization skills, and urgency to make things happen. A successful candidate will be someone who can:

Provide project leadership during all plant engineering project phases.

o During Conceptual Phase (Opportunity and Alternatives Analysis), responsible for coordinating engineers' activities with other disciplines and departments.

o Responsible for preparing or working with project controls to prepare factored estimate and milestone schedule.

o During Front End Engineering and Detailed Design, responsible for marshaling and coordinating internal engineering resources, external engineering resources, and divisional departments to complete required deliverables.

o Primarily responsible for Project Execution Plant, Project Scope of Work, Project Objectives, and Project Design Basis.

o Responsible for ensuring that deviations from these documents are noted and approved (if necessary) and documents are kept up to date.

Work within project teams to identify opportunities, establish project objectives, identify alternatives, and solicit funds for all phases of project and report deviations on scope, cost, or schedule.

Be responsible for all project reporting functions.

Develop project scope, cost and schedule.

Work with Accounting and Finance to ensure project cost data is correct and reliable, items are expensed or capitalized correctly and timely, and projects are closed out in a timely fashion.

Approve vendor and contractor invoices for payment.

Be responsible for providing Engineering/Maintenance Manager with input on internal time sheet charges by either Engineering or Maintenance personnel.

Be responsible for ultimate design decisions, division of responsibilities, establishment of procedures / formalities / policies, establishing selection criteria/approvals, bidding versus sole source, shop verses field fabrication, etc.

Work with local, state, and federal regulation bodies, and company insurance carrier engineer, to ensure project compliance with these codes and standards.

Provide timely reporting of cost, schedule, and milestones achieved for each project on backlog.

Support efforts to implement and maintain the Responsible Care® Management System in line with the requirements of the RC14001® technical specification, as applicable to the site/region.

What You'll Bring to Cabot:
• BS in Engineering discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls and instrumentation).
• 5+ years project execution experience.
• Ability to focus for long periods of time
• Strong knowledge of engineering theories and principles.
• Excellent communication, verbal and written, and presentation skills are a must.
• Excellent plant troubleshooting skills.
• Must be able to lead project teams with multiple disciplines and multiple departments.
•• Demonstrated Critical Thinking skills
