Standard Job DescriptionLockheed Martin Skunk Works® is seeking a Sr. Program Manager, Intelligent Autonomy Systems to help shape the future of airborne autonomy across the Aeronautics enterprise and in alignment with Lockheed Martin's enterprise Autonomy strategy. In this role, you will lead strategy, roadmap development, and execution for a core autonomy portfolio spanning AI-enabled mission capabilities, deterministic autonomy, ground station capabilities, and scalable autonomy architectures.
The Technology Roadmaps Autonomy organization aligns research and development investments to program needs, transition opportunities, and business priorities to create a disciplined path from concept to operational capability. Within this organization, the Intelligent Autonomy Systems portfolio serves as the "brain" of autonomy, integrating mission autonomy technologies into cohesive, scalable solutions.
This role will help guide the direction of Airborne Autonomy by aligning roadmap priorities, technology maturation, and transition planning to enterprise objectives. A central focus of the role is helping advance a OneLM autonomy stack built on open architecture principles and designed to integrate autonomy capabilities from across the business into a cohesive, scalable solution. The role also supports cross-enterprise collaboration efforts, including work with Sikorsky, alignment to key transition opportunities such as Vectis, and positioning of autonomy and AI-driven capabilities within emerging standards-based ecosystems, including A-GRA.
The successful candidate will help connect long-range autonomy strategy to executable plans by aligning investments, capability maturation, demonstrations, and transition paths across a complex set of mission, program, and enterprise stakeholders. This role is central to ensuring intelligent autonomy efforts are systematically planned, resourced, executed, matured, and positioned for adoption across Aeronautics.
You will work across technical leads, program teams, customers, and enterprise stakeholders to identify priorities, align investments, mature capabilities, and drive execution. This role requires a leader who can operate at the intersection of strategy, technology, and execution and help position intelligent autonomy capabilities for demonstration, advocacy, and program adoption.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Intelligent Autonomy Systems portfolio, including roadmap development, execution, and alignment to enterprise priorities.
- Define and communicate the roadmap for intelligent autonomy capabilities, including AI-enabled mission capabilities, deterministic autonomy, ground station capabilities, and autonomy-enabling architectures.
- Help shape the strategic direction of Airborne Autonomy through roadmap alignment, open architecture strategies, and cross-business capability integration.
- Align technology investments and maturation efforts to mission needs, program timelines, business priorities, and transition opportunities, including Vectis.
- Partner with customers, program teams, technical experts, and business development teams to identify priorities and shape relevant autonomy solutions.
- Coordinate across internal and cross-business partners, including Sikorsky, to support integrated autonomy solutions and transition planning.
- Support planning and coordination to align capabilities with emerging open standards and broader autonomy ecosystem efforts, including A-GRA.
- Drive cross-functional execution, including planning, reviews, action tracking, risk management, issue resolution, and stakeholder communications.
- Lead technology maturation and transition planning for demonstrations, captures, and program adoption.
- Provide briefings, strategic recommendations, and focused communications to internal and external leadership.
Basic Qualifications- Experience leading complex autonomy or mission systems efforts across programmatic and technical dimensions.
- Experience in one or more relevant areas such as artificial intelligence, autonomy, mission management, tactical or ISR systems, ground station capabilities, or autonomy-enabling software architectures.
- Experience in technology development, roadmapping, and capability maturation.
- Demonstrated success aligning technical efforts to customer needs, program opportunities, and strategic investment priorities.
- Experience with open architectures, modular capability integration, or standards-based approaches relevant to advanced autonomy systems.
- Experience managing budget, schedule, and technical performance.
- Experience briefing executive-level and technical audiences.
- Familiarity with corporate technology investment planning processes.
- Active Top Secret clearance
Desired Skills- Experience applying AI/ML or autonomy technologies to tactical, ISR, air-to-ground, or other defense mission applications.
- Experience with deterministic autonomy, human-machine teaming, mission autonomy, or autonomous behavior development.
- Experience with software architecture, system integration, and deployment approaches that enable scalable autonomy solutions.
- Experience with open architecture frameworks, autonomy standards, or government reference implementations relevant to autonomy ecosystems.
- Experience coordinating across multiple technical domains and supporting integrated demonstrations or transition efforts.
- Knowledge of ADP technology programs and experience working across LM Aeronautics programs.
- Experience supporting proposal development, capture shaping, or transition planning for advanced technologies.

Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $182500.00 - $338900.00

- Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
- For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
