Your New Role...

CNN is hiring a Senior Product Designer to join the Ad Experience team. This is a great opportunity for an individual who is passionate about building digital products that hold great user experience as essential to long-term success. You'll design new digital advertisement experiences across CNN to support a premium news product, reconciling ad revenue considerations, site performance, user subscriptions, and user engagement. The CNN Ad Experience team sits at the intersection of CNN's user experience and its primary financial engine. We believe the future of CNN is in a premium ad experience powered by first-party data and best-in-class UX. To achieve this, we're unifying ad UX across platforms, innovating on new ad formats, and building smarter tooling to ensure our ads are relevant, timely, and respectful.

The next Senior Product Designer, Ad Experience is a strategic thinker who intuitively understands the balance of business and user needs. They love acting as the "tip of the spear" for new projects, and believe in design thinking as the bridge to other teams and disciplines. They'll partner closely with product managers, engineers, designers, researchers, and data scientists to build the future of CNN's digital products.

Your Role Accountabilities...

  • Be an integral part of the product design team that is evolving CNN's advertising products and footprints across desktop web, mobile web, mobile app, and video surfaces.


  • Create user flows, mockups, and interactive prototypes to effectively conceptualize product features.


  • Help drive user research sessions and usability tests to better understand our consumers.


  • Create, contribute, and maintain components for our design system.


  • Champion our design principles, design systems and product roadmap, and serve our editorial teams' needs.


  • Play a role in shaping the future of CNN's monetization by collaborating with stakeholders and team members to brainstorm, envision, and validate new ad products and footprints.


Qualifications & Experience...

  • 5+ years as a product designer, with at least 2 years in ad tech, marketing tech, or growth design.


  • Strong Figma experience, including with variables, components, styles, and shared libraries.


  • A good track record of product thinking, helping teams understand and prioritize the problems they're solving as part of the design effort.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


  • Proficiency in utilizing, creating and modifying design system components to create scalable, delightful user experiences.


  • Experience working on consumer-facing products within large-scale organizations. Bonus points for experience in news/media.


  • A demonstrated ability to manage complex design challenges and a strong record of fostering cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder alignment.


  • Strength in best practices of user experience design, including usability principles, user research methodology, testing techniques (A/B, Multi-Variant), design theory, and interaction design.


  • Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.

Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $107,089.00 - $198,879.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
