Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
  • Lead sourcing, procurement, and commercial strategy for Data Center Electrical or Mechanical programs across the Americas, including brownfield expansions, capacity upgrades, equipment refreshes, operational resiliency projects, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) and Long Lead Equipment (LLE), including switchgear, generators, transformers, UPS systems, mechanical cooling equipment, skids, controls, electrical distribution infrastructure, and other critical data center systems.
  • Partner with Engineering, Construction, Critical Environment, Infrastructure Planning, Finance, and Operations teams to align procurement strategies with retrofit execution plans, outage requirements, and business continuity objectives.
  • Drive supplier engagement and commercial negotiations, including master agreements, purchase orders, pricing initiatives, schedule commitments, risk allocation, claims resolution, and performance management.
  • Manage equipment demand planning, capacity allocation, manufacturing lead times, factory production schedules, and delivery sequencing to support aggressive deployment timelines across multiple retrofit programs.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain, commercial, technical, and execution risks impacting retrofit schedules, operational readiness, and critical infrastructure availability.
  • Lead supplier performance governance through executive-level engagement, escalation management, recovery planning, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure delivery, quality, and cost objectives are achieved.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to develop procurement strategies supporting equipment standardization, lifecycle replacement programs, modernization initiatives, and emerging technology deployments.
  • Drive cost optimization opportunities through strategic sourcing, value engineering, market intelligence, competitive bidding, and supplier relationship management while maintaining quality and reliability standards.
  • Establish procurement governance, forecasting, reporting, and operational metrics to provide leadership visibility into spend, schedule, supply chain health, and program risks.
  • Support capital planning and investment decisions by providing market intelligence, supplier capability assessments, lead time forecasts, budget inputs, and procurement risk analysis.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers to improve supply assurance, increase flexibility, accelerate deployment schedules, and strengthen long-term capacity planning.

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Sourcing and Category Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
