As a Sr Procurement Buyer here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will manage strategic procurement activities, oversee complex projects, and lead a team to optimize practices, enhance profitability, and secure a reliable supply chain. You will report directly to our Procurement Manager, and youll work out of our San Jose, CA location on a Hybrid work schedule following onsite training.
Are YOU someone that excels at problem solving and building strong relationships? Honeywell Aerospace is seeking an experienced Sr Procurement Buyer for its Missiles business unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing procurement objectives and will own the performance of specific commodities and suppliers who provide those components. The role requires innovative, critical thinking skills toward solving problems and anticipating future issues.
The Procurement team applies leading edge theories and techniques to resolve complex and often unusual tactical issues impacting the department and programs. The Sr Procurement Buyer will work on problems of project critical scope where there is significant impact beyond the confines of their own job and department.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
30 Plans for and procures materials necessary to meet manufacturing build requirements for one or several product lines.
30 Requests and analyzes quotes to ensure reasonable price, and that specifications are met.
30 Initiates purchases and contracts driven through the MRP process.
30 Reviews forecasted requirements and assess when to execute orders based on multiple factors.
30 Negotiates critical, complex, awards in accordance with Company and Government regulations.
30 Prepares complete purchase orders and arranges for specifications, material and tooling to be forwarded to suppliers.
30 Manages cost improvement initiatives and establishes multi-year agreements.
30 Pulls, pushes, or cancels orders per production plans.
30 Ensure materials are available to meet manufacturing build requirements.
30 Match material infeed and inventory turnover so as not to hold too high a percentage of inventory at any given time.
30 Investigates and resolves issues with receiving, invoices or suppliers.
30 Address, return and receive credit for defective materials.
30 Interfaces with technical and management personnel, regarding changes in material, quantity, quality or delivery schedules.
30 Develop commodity specific suppliers based on performance (Quality, Service, Technology, and Price).
30 Quickly analyzes problems, investigate and determine solutions.
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
30 High School Diploma or GED.
30 Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement.
30 Minimum 5 years of experience planning strategically for the delivery of a variety of materials and services.
30 Minimum 5 years of experience utilizing Material Requirement Planning (MRP) systems.
This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws.
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
WE VALUE
30 Bachelors Degree.
30 MRP: Oracle or SAP experience preferred.
30 Advanced to Expert level in Excel and Power Point.
30 Experience working with engineering teams to translate early design concepts into sourcing requirements
30 Experience with evolving Bill of Materials (BOMs), Engineering Change Order (ECO) process, and prototype management
30 Manufacturing, Electronic or Aerospace industry background.
30 Experience performing price or cost analysis.
30 Experience in vendor management including agreement negotiation.
30 Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) or recent experience supporting a government contractor environment.
PAY TRANSPARENCY
The annual base salary range for this position is $94,000 - $118,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidates work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
