About the Role:

A role on the Supply Chain Operations, Process Design and Innovation (PDI) Team means helping shape the future of Target's supply chain by owning the process design for the Putaway, GPM, and Warehouse functions in our network. This includes future design requirements, cycle time modeling, Standard Work documentation, training, field implementation, and problem solving until a run-state handoff. The team brings operations requirements to optimize and modernize our legacy Regional Distribution Centers. We do this through time in site, field feedback, benchmarking, testing, and problem solving efforts.

You will sit at the intersection of supply chain process design and scalable operational development. You will lead small-to-medium scope intake initiatives or own workstreams within larger intakes that evaluate new processes to unlock step-change technology and efficiency improvements across Target’s supply chain. This is hands-on work where you will frame the problem and impact, measurable opportunities, partner with product, data, operations, finance, safety, field teams, build the metric plan and business case, coordinate validation or pilot readiness, and create recommendations.

Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project manage / lead CFTs, including clear problem statements, success measures, assumptions, risks, decision points, business case inputs, and recommendations
  • Coordinate cross-functional partners including product, technology, field, data and analytics, finance, safety, and quality.
  • Use benchmarking, operational observations, data analysis, root cause analysis, and metric planning to determine whether a process is scalable and creating business value
  • Develop and manage project plans, decision logs, action items, test plans, validation criteria, and handoff documentation that keep work organized, aligned, and moving forward.
  • Create clear, simple, and visually effective communication materials that translate complex insights, tradeoffs, progress, risks, decisions needed, and recommendations into a compelling story that builds stakeholder confidence and excitement in the team’s work.
