Full Job Description
The Sr. Process Engineer is responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes for oligonucleotide production workflows. This role supports the scale-up of cutting-edge DNA synthesis technologies from R&D into production and drives process robustness, efficiency, and quality performance.
This position reports to the Sr. Site Manager and is part of the operations group located in Sunnyvale, CA and will be an on-site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Execute technology transfer of oligonucleotide synthesis workflows from R&D into manufacturing, ensuring successful scale-up and process stability
- Develop, optimize, and sustain manufacturing processes to improve yield, cycle time, and throughput
- Lead process validation and qualification activities for new equipment, materials, and workflows
- Analyze process performance data to identify trends, troubleshoot process-related issues impacting production performance, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
- Other duties as assigned
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Molecular Biology, or related discipline
- Several years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering environment
- Experience with nucleic acid manufacturing, molecular biology workflows, or other production processes
- Demonstrated experience in process development or scale-up, or technology transfer
- Experience authoring and maintaining technical documentation such as SOPs and validation protocols
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: if applicable for role
- Ability to travel 10% of the time during tech transfer phase
- Ability to work in a laboratory/manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods
- Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 50lb
It would be a plus if you also possess:
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Lean / Six Sigma certification
- Experience with process troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) and implementing laboratory automation

The annual salary range for this role is $117,000-$128,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
