DescriptionNorthrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector is looking for a Supplier Management Team (SMT) Sr. Principal Electrical Engineer for the Countermeasures Subsystem (CMS), subcontracted with Textron for the Sentinel Program, located at the Strategic Deterrence Division (SDS) headquarters in Roy, UT.
What You’ll Get To Do:
As a CMS Electrical Engineer, you will work along-side other SMT teams supporting the Countermeasures SMT Lead.
Primary job responsibilities are participating in the technical oversite of the Textron subcontract. This includes participation and leading technical tag ups, support of testing and review / approvals of test reports and procedures and working within the team to align with customer requirements that flow to the subcontract. To support this role, the Electrical Engineer will:
Complete tasking with minimum oversight.
Understand and apply system requirements.
Mentor lower level Engineers
Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for mechanical, electrical and integrated systems
Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements
Create technical reports and present technical information
Requirements coordination with peer engineers, specialty teams, and customer.
Verify specifications and designs through modeling and simulation, test data processing, and performance analysis
Support all phases of the systems life cycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and certification.
Review customer deliverables, testing, and requirements verification. Bring technical information to boards including PERB, AERB and TRB (as applicable) for all variances, technical direction to supplier, etc.
Support pre-ship reviews and coordination with ILS group.
Maintain design documentation and follow configuration management requirements.
Assistance in planning and scheduling activities.
Interface with AF customer and Subcontractor.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of related experience, 6 years with a master’s degree, 4 years with PHD.
Active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
Ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access (SAP/PAR).
3 years minimum experience in Requirements Verification and tools such as DOORS.
3 years experience in review/approval of test plans/procedures and test reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current enrollment in Special Program Access (SAP/PAR).
Prior Supplier Management Experience on a Program in the Development phase.
Technical evaluation experience of supplier proposals & subsequent contract negotiations.
Experience in creating and monitoring technical risks and opportunities.
ICBM Experience (MMIII or Sentinel)
Experience with TeamCenter/NX
Experience with VHDL/FPGA/ASIC design
Experience with Nuclear Certified Design
Experience with Agile
Experience with Cable/Harness Design
Experience resolving issues and providing technical support
Experience using Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, and Power Point
Capable of working with minimal direction and in team environments
Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities
Strong understanding and broad application of complex engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.) for the development of complex systems of systems
Experience developing systems in joint collaborative environment between contractor and customer.

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Primary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
