Benesch is proud to announce the opening for a Senior Pricing Analyst in our Cleveland office! This position is hybrid and has work from home flexibility.

The Senior Pricing Analyst works closely with the Pricing Manager and Director of Client Value & Practice Management to produce creative and workable pricing solutions that align with the firm's financial goals and client service objectives. Imperative to the role is the ability to analyze complex financials, develop data-rich pricing models, and provide actionable advice to support decision-making at the matter, client, portfolio, and practice levels. Because the Senior Pricing Analyst collaborates closely with partners and other internal and external stakeholders, candidates must demonstrate a deep understanding of legal services pricing, profitability drivers, and market trends. This position requires continuous learning through legal industry organization/society membership and keeping pace with developments related to pricing, profitability, reporting, technology, and data analysis.
Essential Functions:
1. Participates in the development and execution of creative pricing strategies and client fee arrangements that improve the firm's profitability while delivering value to clients.
2. Leverages historical matter data to identify comparable engagements and develop defensible pricing, resourcing, and efficiency recommendations.
3. Collaborates with partners, practice groups, business development staff, and pricing team members to design a high volume of data-driven matter budgets, fee proposals, and alternative fee arrangements (AFAs) in response to client needs and RFPs.
4. Utilizes pricing technologies and analytics to automate analyses, extract actionable insights from large datasets, and improve the overall pricing processes.
5. Conducts post-matter financial reviews by analyzing historical matter data (utilization, realization, financial performance) to inform future pricing decisions and enhance matter profitability and performance.
6. Develops and maintains pricing tools, templates, and databases (including budget models, AFA tracking, and competitor pricing intelligence) and drive process improvements to increase pricing efficiency, consistency, and accuracy.
7. Partners with the Legal Project Management team in connection with approved budgets, AFAs, and similar complex pricing structures that require ongoing monitoring, reporting, and variance tracking. Outline risks and serve as resource for ongoing analysis of projected financial outcomes as well as necessary adjustments to enhance profitability.
8. Monitors market trends and competitors' pricing strategies to maintain awareness of industry standards and recommend adjustments to the firm's pricing strategy.
9. Trains and guide attorneys and staff on pricing best practices and tools, enhancing firmwide understanding of legal pricing, budgeting, and profitability drivers.
10. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
The Senior Pricing Analyst requires a bachelor's degree and eight years of analysis experience, including at least five years in legal pricing or financial analysis, with strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills. Must be able to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data, apply market trends and best practices, and communicate complex financial information clearly to partners, attorneys, and clients. Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, discretion with confidential information, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment is required. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and analytical tools is required, with PowerBI, SQL, and Aderant experience preferred. The Senior Pricing Analyst must have a service-first mindset, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, a commitment to professional development, and flexibility to work outside normal business hours when needed.
The salary range for this position is $88K to $106.5K.

Base pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay is only one part of the Total Rewards that Benesch provides to compensate and recognize our staff professionals for their work.
