This role is hybrid (4 days/week in the office) (New York, Miami or Chicago)Key Accountabilities:
- Manages and provides oversight for a Global Payroll function across CI Financial and Corient, providing coaching to support employee development, growth and performance.
- Manages a team of two payroll experts and outsourced vendors for Payroll across the US, Canada, Caribbean and Hong Kong.
- Provide expert oversight of payroll operations to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely pay delivery while proactively mitigating financial and regulatory risks.
- Supervises the completion of US and Canadian semi-monthly payroll for salaried and hourly employees within Workday and ADP.
- Provides oversight of payroll outsourced services and payroll vendor management for global regions including the Caribbean and Hong Kong.
- Leads and supports execution of payroll audits working acting as single point of contact across HR, Compliance, third party auditors to meet requirements.
- Manages payroll year end, working with compensation and systems teams to ensure accurate and timely payments, year end tax documents and compliance activities.
- Manages team to assist internal stakeholders in completing required internal and/or regulatory compliance tasks for payroll, including working with Finance to balance payroll accounts to the GL.
- Acts as the payroll lead for Mergers and acquisitions and Divestitures (MA &D), working with the MA&D teams, Finance and compensation teams to payroll onboard/offboard companies and ensure payouts are done in a timely manner.
- Identifies and executes on opportunities to realize efficiencies in payroll delivery, including identifying vendors globally that can provide economies of scale.
- Provides payroll consulting and subject matter expertise on complex matters requiring extensive knowledge of payroll policies, procedures and federal & provincial/state legislation(s).
- Champions continuous improvements by leading regular audits to identify process gaps and implementing scalable solutions for long-term operational excellence.
- Facilitates internal, external and outside government tax agencies working collaboratively to respond and correct issues.
- Enforces compliance with evolving employment legislation, payroll regulations, internal policies, and global data privacy standards.
Physical Requirements- This position requires the physical capabilities to work in an office environment, which may include prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
