Full Job Description
This is a hybrid position, 3 days/week onsite and 2 days/week remote.

JOB SUMMARY

The Sr Mgr Operations Planning will lead the Operations Planning team, responsible for building and executing an integrated Sales and Operations Planning process, supporting the VP of Operations Planning, Optimization, and AI and the Operations organization with analysis and recommendations on operations performance and KPIs, collaborating across FP&A and the Business team to align opportunities and constraints across Operations against business and financial plans, and owns Operations forecasting and other predictive and analytical models. The ideal candidate will have experience in Supply Chain and Operations or related discipline, a strong overall business acumen, and a high aptitude for data analysis, data science tools and the ability to work closely with Data Science, Product, and IT to create the capabilities needed to steward the business. The role will have high-visibility and be an active participant in COO led initiatives and discussions and presents a unique opportunity to stand up a focused Planning and Analysis capability within the Operations organization as it integrates processes and capabilities in line with PODS' long-term strategy. Success in this role will require a bias for action, a love of operating deep in the data including the ability to seek, find and validate, the ability to self-start new processes and capabilities, and eagerness to build. This role is a hands-on leader role; while a strong leader is needed, that leader will be a key contributor via both individual and team actions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and execute the PODS S&OP process in coordination with guidance from leadership; integrate capacity and labor plans, demand, and marketing/business requirements into a cohesive planning process.
  • Support a performance management cadence for operational planning and optimization, including weekly and monthly business reviews, KPI dashboards, variance analysis, root-cause problem solving, and action tracking tied to service, cost, productivity, and asset efficiency.
  • Conduct analysis using SQL, Python, Tableau, PowerBI and other tools as needed day to day and in support of weekly Operations Business Reviews, quarterly reviews, and annual plans.
  • Own the development of Operations forecasting models in coordination with Operations Data Science and other cross-functional stakeholders; establish the appropriate KPIs and steward the models, providing iterative improvements and recommending capability enhancements as required.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and AI implementations in analysis tools, opportunity and risk identification, and forecasting.
  • Collaborate across FP&A, Business, and Operations stakeholders to identify and close KPI and revenue and operational gaps and opportunities.
  • Coordinate with regional Operations leadership on improvement initiatives and stewardship. Support reporting and analysis as needed to improve the operation.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of planners, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. This role will be an individual contributor at its start and expected to help design and build the future of PODS Operations Planning, to include future roles and responsibilities.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education & Experience Requirements

  • BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field; MBA preferred
  • 5-10+ years in supply chain, planning, inventory management, or similar operations roles with high data literacy requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, SQL, PowerBI, Tableau and other analytical tools.
  • General knowledge and experience using AI tools and models in day-to-day work.
  • Strong analytical mindset and extensive data and results interpretation experience with the ability to communicate insights and findings to senior management and external partners in a clear, compelling way.
  • Knowledge of common forecasting and statistical techniques.
  • Proven experience working in growing or new teams or expanding existing businesses.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and to manage change and enterprise initiatives.
  • Comfort in dealing with ambiguity and demonstrated ability to put structure around vague and unstructured requests/discussions. Ability to think creatively to create tools and processes to solve problems with an eye to scalability and flexibility.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to sit at a desk and use a computer for up to 8 hours a day; Ability to use hands and fingers to type on a keyboard and use a mouse to navigate; Vision sufficient to view small details on a computer monitor
  • Ability to stand and walk up to 8 hours a day; ability to stoop, bend and lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to hear and verbally communicate using a telephone handset and/or connected headset device
