OverviewThe Senior Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in driving efficient, high-performing fulfillment operations at 1A Auto. This position will lead one or more functional areas within the Fulfillment Center, partner closely with cross-functional teams, and champion strategies that boost productivity and quality. Beyond day-to-day operations, the Sr. Operations Manager builds and develops talent, supervising, coaching, and contributing to labor and succession planning through hiring, training, and employee development.
General Responsibilities:- Own performance and execution for one or more functions within the Fulfillment Center.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations professionals, holding them accountable to clear goals.
- Design and implement strategies that streamline workflows, boost efficiency, and reduce cost without compromising quality.
- Balance competing priorities and tight deadlines by flexing the workforce to match real-time demand.
- Partner with Human Resources, Logistics, Product Development, IT, and Customer Service to keep end-to-end operations seamless.
- Foster open, direct communication and a positive, results-driven culture on the floor.
- Dig into operational data to spot bottlenecks and inefficiencies, then act on what you find.
- Track KPIs closely and drive corrective action when performance drifts off target.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts, process redesign, automation, and smarter ways of working.
- Build and maintain SOPs that keep operations consistent, compliant, and audit ready.
- Stay current on industry trends and technology so 1A Auto keeps its operational edge.
- Contribute operational insight to strategic planning conversations with the executive team.
- Report out regularly to senior leadership on performance, projects, and key initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
- 5+ years in management role in e-commerce distribution
- Sound judgment under pressure, the ability to make decisions, solve problems, and redirect the workforce in a fast-changing Fulfillment Center environment.
- Proven leadership across cross-functional teams, with a track record of motivating people to obtain goals.
- Sharp analytical instincts, comfortable turning data into decisions.
- Working knowledge of data analysis tools to extract insight and inform strategy.
- Strong communication skills across internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience juggling multiple concurrent projects.
- Preferred: Lean Six Sigma or other process-improvement training.
- Preferred: SQL familiarity.
EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree strongly preferred. We'll also consider high-potential candidates with a high school diploma/GED plus 5+ years of leadership experience in a high-SKU-volume (40,000+) warehousing e-commerce environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
