It operates as a natural gas-fired simple cycle peaking facility, designed to provide electricity during periods of high demand. Opportunity SummaryThe Senior Operations and Maintenance (Sr O&M) Supervisor provides leadership for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of Elwood Energy's simple-cycle peaking facility. This role leads and develops O&M personnel, directs operational and maintenance priorities, and drives reliability of the facility's GE Frame 7FA combustion turbines and balance-of-plant systems. The Senior O&M Supervisor ensures safety and environmental compliance while partnering with plant management and stakeholders to optimize availability and performance.
Your scope of responsibility as Sr O&M Supervisor will include the following primary functions:- Provide leadership and direction to O&M personnel, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the plant and its combustion turbine systems.
- Evaluate plant conditions, communicate normal, abnormal, and emergency situations to plant management, and direct appropriate corrective actions in accordance with established procedures.
- Drive preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability, availability, and peaking readiness.
- Ensure plant logs, operating records, maintenance documentation, and other required records are accurate, complete, and timely.
- Oversee the plant water chemistry program, including required testing, inspections, and maintenance of applicable water treatment systems.
- Maintain plant policies, procedures, and work practices consistent with operating requirements, business objectives, and industry best practices.
- Champion plant safety programs, including Safe Work Permits, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, Chemical Handling, and other applicable programs.
- Reinforce a strong safety culture by integrating safe work practices into planning, job assignments, maintenance activities, and daily operations.
- Ensure compliance with NAES policies and procedures, project work rules, and applicable local, state, and federal requirements.
- Lead and develop O&M personnel, address employee concerns, and foster a positive, accountable, high-performing work environment.
- Guide employee training and qualification activities to maintain sufficient staffing, competency, and operational readiness.
- Advance cross-training, employee development, and succession planning to strengthen plant capabilities and workforce continuity.
- Support recruiting, interviewing, selection, and onboarding of qualified plant personnel.
- Direct operation and maintenance of plant electrical systems and transformers to support reliable generation and power distribution.
- Oversee inspection, troubleshooting, and maintenance of substation equipment, including high- and low-voltage breakers, in accordance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Lead combustion turbine outage activities, capital improvements, equipment reliability initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Perform other duties as assigned by plant management.

Working RelationshipsThe Sr O&M Supervisor reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for overseeing O&M personnel, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant and its related processes.
Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsPhysical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, climbing stairs and ladders, working from elevated platforms and walkways at varying heights, and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds.
Power plant environment that may involve entering confined spaces, crawling through narrow areas, and handling hazardous materials, with exposure to fumes, extreme temperatures, and noise. Work may include high heat near equipment and varying outdoor weather conditions.
Some duties may require the use of protective equipment, which can include hard hats, safety glasses, and eye protection, air masks/respirators, ear protection, chemical suits, flame-resistant clothing (FRC), hot gloves, high-voltage protective gear, and fall protection. Fit testing for respirators may be required. Strict smoking restrictions apply in and around the facility.
Fitness for DutyAll personnel will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program, which includes a post-offer physical examination, drug screening, and post-employment random drug screening.
Work ScheduleThe Sr O&M Supervisor works a standard Monday to Friday day and afternoon shift schedule. This position will require extended hours, flexible shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability as needed to support plant operations and business needs.
Some travel will be required to participate in manager, owner, user group, or other offsite meetings.
CompensationThis position offers an annual base salary ranging from $128,100 to $182,000 and includes eligibility for an annual performance bonus.
Leadership Experience & Qualifications- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience or extensive power plant operations, maintenance and supervisory experience, preferably in a natural gas-fired simple-cycle facility with GE Frame 7FA or similar combustion turbines.
- Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices, including troubleshooting, failure analysis, root cause identification, and actions to improve equipment reliability and availability.
- Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), including work orders, maintenance history, planning and scheduling, and inventory management.
- Demonstrated experience leading combustion turbine outages, capital projects, and major maintenance activities, including coordination of resources, schedules, contractors, priorities, and budgets.
- Thorough understanding of power generation safety regulations, safe work practices, and environmental requirements, with a demonstrated commitment to compliance and a strong safety culture.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, train, and develop O&M personnel while driving accountability, teamwork, operational readiness, and continuous improvement.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills, with the ability to set priorities and collaborate effectively with plant personnel, management, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Must possess a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver's license and ensure it remains in good standing at all times.
