Senior Modern Work Consultant

About the role:

We are seeking a Senior Modern Work Consultant to join the Microsoft practice. This role combines deep Microsoft 365 consulting expertise with strong SharePoint Online architecture experience and operational Managed Services delivery. The ideal candidate will lead client-facing projects, support recurring service offerings, and serve as a trusted advisor across Microsoft 365 collaboration, identity, governance, security, compliance, and adoption initiatives.

Core Responsibilities:
Microsoft 365 Consulting & Delivery (60% weighting)
  • Lead client discovery, assessment, solution design, implementation, and optimization engagements.
  • Design and implement Microsoft 365 solutions including SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Copilot, and Viva Suite.
  • Support tenant-to-tenant migration, collaboration modernization, security improvement, and governance initiatives.
  • Create technical architecture documentation, solution designs, Statements of Work (SOWs), roadmaps, and executive-facing deliverables.
Security, Governance & Compliance
  • Conduct Microsoft 365 security, governance, and collaboration assessments.
  • Design and support Conditional Access, identity governance, Zero Trust initiatives, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, and Microsoft Purview capabilities.
  • Translate technical risk findings into prioritized remediation plans and business-ready recommendations.
  • Assist clients with compliance, data protection, access control, and governance programs.
Business Development & Offering Support
  • Assist account teams with opportunity discovery, solution development, technical presentations, and proposal support.
  • Contribute to repeatable service offerings, pricing inputs, assessment models, delivery collateral, and intellectual property.
  • Participate in workshops, executive briefings, and customer strategy sessions.
  • Help position SharePoint, governance, adoption, security, and Managed Services solutions with prospective and existing clients.
SharePoint & Collaboration Leadership (25% weighting)
  • Design and implement modern SharePoint Online intranets, collaboration portals, and department or project-based site structures.
  • Lead information architecture, metadata, permissions, content lifecycle, and governance discussions.
  • Develop site provisioning standards, hub site strategy, content management models, and user adoption guidance.
  • Guide customers through content migration, legacy SharePoint modernization, and digital workplace transformation efforts.
  • Advise stakeholders on knowledge management, collaboration design, employee experience, and platform governance.
Managed Services & Customer Success (15% weighting)
  • Support, mature, and expand Microsoft 365 Managed Services offerings.
  • Participate in recurring customer reviews, service reviews, quarterly business reviews, and roadmap planning sessions.
  • Develop operational standards, service runbooks, health checks, remediation playbooks, and escalation procedures.
  • Collaborate with service desk, engineering, and account teams to transition project work into managed operations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer security posture, governance maturity, adoption, and Microsoft investment utilization.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Microsoft 365 consulting, administration, or engineering experience.
  • 3+ years of SharePoint Online architecture, administration, migration, or intranet experience.
  • 3+ years of Managed Services, recurring customer support, or customer success experience.
  • Experience leading customer-facing technical engagements from discovery through delivery.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft Defender.
  • Ability to create professional technical documentation, solution designs, runbooks, roadmaps, and executive summaries.
  • Strong communication, presentation, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience building, supporting, or improving managed service programs.
  • Experience conducting Microsoft 365 security, governance, or adoption assessments.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Defender XDR, and related security operations concepts.
  • Experience with Power Platform, workflow automation, or business process modernization.
  • Experience with Microsoft Copilot readiness, governance, adoption, or enablement engagements.
  • Experience with migration tools such as ShareGate, Quest, BitTitan, or similar migration platforms.
