About the Role:

As a CBRE Events Sr. Manager, you will be responsible for the management of a team assigned to meetings, events & conference services.

This job is part of the Workplace Experience function. They are responsible for providing world-class customer service to the clients and visitors of a designated building.

This is a fully onsite role in NYC downtown area with little to no travel.

What You'll Do:
  • Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
  • Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff.
  • Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
  • Serve as a primary contact to the client for meeting & events forecasts and strategies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex client inquiries and escalated feedback.
  • Implement enhancements for event success in partnership with the client. This includes suggesting improvements to processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Review reports to measure productivity and present findings to CBRE & client leadership.
  • Create and monitor department SLAs, KPIs, and benchmarks. Monitor related performance data, identify solutions for gaps and implementation of efficiencies.
  • Apply a broad knowledge of the business, discipline, and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence others to adopt a different point of view while being guided by policies and departmental plans. Be flexible in adjusting to business needs.
  • Identify and solve technical and operational problems of complexity in partnership with client.
  • Recommend and advise on adjustments to existing methods, processes, and standards within job discipline.
  • Develop end-to-end event plans to ensure flawless execution from start to finish.
  • Produce detailed event planning timelines and track progress. Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Distribute event orders and schedules to vendors and team defining event specifics. Create timelines and floorplans for set-up, event flow, and event set up and tear down details.
  • Support pre-event client planning meetings. This includes acquiring vendors, menu planning, theme and decor, budgets, etc.
  • Support event communication and marketing plan. Solve issues as they arise.
  • Key contact for day of the event. Ensure seamless event delivery by the events operations team and vendors. Responsible for on-site coordination. Confirm load in, set up times. Support events team with execution. Confirm event set-up and tear down welcoming guests, supporting attendee and speaker requests etc.
  • Conduct post-event reporting and reconciliation. Suggest recommendations for continuous improvement and cost and process efficiency. Present information to client leadership.
  • Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
  • Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.
  • Partner with the client in the development and creation of best practices and SOP toolkits specific to Meet & Events.
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor's Degree required with 5 - 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
  • Player coach mentality and great collaboration and listening skills.
  • Must be flexible to work early morning, after hours and weekend events.
  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations and handle problems.
  • Leadership skills to motivate the team to achieve broad operational targets with impacts on own job discipline, multiple job disciplines, and departments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google products and AI tools. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Suite.
  • Extensive organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Familiarity with EMS (Event Management System by Accruent) or a similar event booking software is a mandatory requirement.
  • Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate complicated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training and experience. The compensation range is about $115,000 to $135,000 annual base salary plus 10% target bonus based on experience. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications and experience.
