Your opportunity:

This position will be responsible for developing and implementing integrated, multi-channel marketing & communication campaigns and programs to achieve the Department of Computer Science's strategic objectives. This position will drive integrated marketing strategy, manage communications projects, conduct research, and oversee content creation across various mediums & platforms.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and developing an integrated multi-channel marketing & communications strategy independently
  • Developing and implementing marketing plans to promote programs, events and/or initiatives that support strategic objectives
  • Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
  • Assessing needs and contributing to the development of communications goals
  • Conducting market research and analysis
  • Developing project schedules including milestones, critical path, timelines, deliverables and reporting
  • Planning and estimating financial resources required for programs and/or projects
  • Serving as a resource to others by providing (non-supervisory) job-related guidance


Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Digital Media, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience.
  • Minimum five years experience in developing and executing creative, persuasive, and comprehensive communication and marketing plans for internal and external audiences.
  • Experience implementing marketing and/or communication strategies that align with and drive strategic business objectives.
  • Experience pitching original story ideas and completing all phases of the creative process, including concept development, research, interviews, writing, recording, editing, and distribution.
  • Experience with creating, editing and posting compelling content on social media, websites, and other digital channels.
  • Experience analyzing data to determine trends and effectiveness of initiatives.
  • Advanced writing and editing skills with the ability to deliver high-quality content across a broad range of complex topics, and in formats and on platforms appropriate for a range of audiences.
  • Proven track record of building strong internal relationships and relationships with external partners, as well as a variety of media and graphics agencies.
  • Experience with identifying and recommending creative outreach program initiatives that expand outreach audience profiles.
  • Relevant experience with market research skills, facilitating focus groups, designing and implementing surveys and developing and writing proposals.
  • Proven project management skills, with a successful track record in managing marketing & communications projects, from ideation to implementation and evaluation, and using software to organize workflows.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Premiere, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Dreamweaver) and content management systems.
  • Advanced skills in utilizing social media platforms for professional environments including Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and connect with diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability implement and manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize work and establish priorities in a flexible way, and successfully meet deadlines and competing priorities.
