Sr. Manufacturing Manager Job Description

Hyve Solutions is looking for a detail-oriented, hands-on, results-driven Sr. Manufacturing Manager with proven communication skills and a strong work ethic to work in a challenging, fast-paced, energetic environment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
  • Typically manages a single department and/or shift
  • Manage the ongoing ISO compliant and cost-effective manufacture of specific products or sub-products
  • Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply
  • Plans and administers procedures Develops schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas
  • Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of identifiable factors
  • Manages through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results in terms of costs, methods and staffing.
  • Directing and instructing a team consisting of ~10 supervisors, and ~200 employees
  • Managing staff to meet objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and cost across 2 shifts and supporting on primary customer
  • Training, supporting, and leading the management and supervisory staff
  • Utilizing lean manufacturing strategies and tools to help the team achieve more efficient production
  • Utilizing quality tools, such as 8D, to identify root causes of failures and implement preventative measures
  • Make improvements in manufacturing assembly to reduce defects, failures, and labor cost
  • Hiring and retaining manufacturing talent
  • Experience working on complex problems where analysis or data requires evaluation and identifiable factors and interacting with leadership on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
  • Provide solutions to problems of moderate complexity that require the evaluation of readily distinguishable factors using standard techniques and methodologies.
  • Interface with peers, both internal and external to the organization, to complete various reporting and follow-up tasks.


Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years related experience


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing systems
  • Effective in time management and delegation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean philosophies and experienced in practicing those applications.

Physical Demands
  • Extensive use of computer equipment, and frequent telephone activity.
  • Periods of extended sitting, walking, and standing are required.
  • Activities such as bending and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Employee must be physically capable of completing and satisfying all training requirements as stipulated by Company policy.
