Your Role:

MilliporeSigma is seeking a highly experienced Sr. Connectivity Solution Architect to join our Smart Manufacturing and Digital Platforms organization.

This role is responsible for designing and governing connectivity solutions that enable seamless integration between manufacturing, laboratory, warehouse, facility, and enterprise business systems. The architect will play a key role in advancing MilliporeSigma's digital transformation strategy by ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable data flows across the enterprise.

Working closely with business stakeholders, site teams, enterprise architects, engineers, and technology partners, the Senior Connectivity Solution Architect will establish standardized integration patterns, define connectivity standards, and drive the implementation of enterprise-wide solutions that support manufacturing operations, analytics, automation, and data-driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Design
  • Design and implement enterprise connectivity solutions linking manufacturing, laboratory, warehouse, and facility systems with enterprise applications.
  • Define scalable integration architectures supporting real-time and near real-time data exchange across business and operational environments.
  • Establish reusable connectivity patterns, standards, and best practices that can be deployed across multiple sites and business functions.
  • Ensure solution designs align with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, data governance, and compliance requirements.
  • Drive adoption of modern integration technologies, event-driven architectures, and cloud-enabled data platforms.

Enterprise & Manufacturing Systems Integration
  • Design and support integrations between enterprise applications and manufacturing systems, including MES, LIMS, ERP, historians, analytics platforms, and cloud services.
  • Develop and validate integration solutions utilizing APIs, messaging technologies, industrial connectivity platforms, and middleware solutions.
  • Configure and support connectivity platforms such as KEPServerEX and related technologies to enable secure data acquisition and exchange.
  • Partner with site teams and technology vendors to deploy standardized connectivity solutions.
  • Support implementation of Unified Namespace (UNS), MQTT, and Industry 4.0 connectivity frameworks where appropriate.

Technical Leadership
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects, infrastructure teams, cybersecurity teams, and manufacturing technology organizations to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Lead technical design reviews and provide architecture guidance throughout project lifecycles.
  • Develop and maintain reference architectures, implementation standards, technical documentation, and reusable templates.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve scalability, reliability, and business value.

Delivery & Operational Support
  • Support solution deployment, testing, validation, and user acceptance activities.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and technical support for connectivity-related issues.
  • Monitor integration performance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and support operational handoff to site and support teams.
  • Contribute to operational procedures, runbooks, and support documentation.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Automation, or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in solution architecture, systems integration, manufacturing technology, or enterprise connectivity.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing complex integrations across enterprise and manufacturing environments.
  • Experience working in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, medical device, or other regulated industries preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and collaborate across global organizations.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree preferred.

Enterprise Systems

Experience integrating and supporting enterprise platforms such as:
  • SAP ERP (ECC and/or S/4HANA)
  • Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
  • Electronic Batch Records (EBR)
  • Enterprise Asset Management (EAM)
  • Quality Management Systems (QMS)
  • Data Historians
  • Data Lakes and Analytics Platforms
  • Cloud Services and Integration Platforms

Integration Technologies

Strong understanding of:
  • API-based integrations
  • REST and Web Services
  • Event-Driven Architecture (EDA)
  • Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)
  • Messaging technologies including MQTT
  • Middleware and integration platforms
  • Data modeling and transformation

Connectivity & Industrial Technologies

Working knowledge of:
  • KEPServerEX
  • OPC UA
  • Industrial communication standards
  • Manufacturing and laboratory equipment connectivity
  • Historian platforms such as AVEVA PI / OSIsoft PI
  • ISA-95 concepts and manufacturing integration frameworks

Cloud & Analytics Technologies (Preferred)

Pay Range for this position: $121,500-$182,300

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
