BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Manager, Strategic Execution - MRO plays a critical leadership role in translating the MRO Business Unit strategy into executable, cross-functional programs that deliver measurable business impact. This role serves as the single-threaded owner of the Business Unit's most critical strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment, execution discipline, and value realization across Category Management, Sales, Supply Chain, Marketing, Digital, and Operations. Partnering closely with the VP/GM and MRO leadership team, this leader drives the Business Unit's strategic agenda-ensuring initiatives are properly prioritized, executed with rigor, and delivering against financial and operational objectives.

In addition, this role acts as a strategic connector across the enterprise, linking Supplier Council insights, cross-BU alignment, and emerging capabilities such as Artificial Intelligence to business unit priorities. Success in this role requires strong business acumen, structured problem solving, and the ability to lead complex initiatives through influence, driving clarity and accountability across a matrixed organization.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Program Ownership & Execution
  • Own end-to-end delivery of the MRO Business Unit's highest priority strategic initiatives, from concept through value realization.
  • Translate strategic priorities into structured programs with clear outcomes tied to growth, margin expansion, and customer impact.
  • Lead initiatives across assortment management, portfolio productivity, GTM growth, and operational optimization, ensuring measurable financial results.
  • Anticipate and resolve cross-functional risks, dependencies, and trade-offs to maintain execution momentum.

Business Unit Strategic Execution
  • Partner with the VP/GM and leadership team to operationalize the Strategic A3 roadmap and drive execution against Business Unit priorities.
  • Lead the operating cadence of the BU, ensuring clear visibility, alignment, and accountability across strategic initiatives.
  • Establish a direct linkage between strategic priorities, execution plans, and business performance outcomes.

Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Lead complex, enterprise-level initiatives spanning Category, Sales, Supply Chain, Marketing, Digital, and Operations.
  • Drive alignment across functions to ensure initiatives are designed and executed with end-to-end business impact and feasibility in mind.
  • Influence and mobilize senior stakeholders to deliver results in a highly matrixed environment.

Supplier Council Program Leadership
  • Own program management of the MRO Supplier Council, ensuring effective planning, execution, and follow-through of council priorities.
  • Translate Supplier Council insights into actionable strategic programs, including assortment, sourcing, and growth initiatives.
  • Ensure supplier engagement is directly connected to Business Unit priorities and delivering measurable value.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Liaison & Champion
  • Serve as the MRO Business Unit lead for Artificial Intelligence, partnering with IT and enterprise teams to align on tools and roadmap.
  • Identify and prioritize high-impact AI use cases that improve productivity, insights, and decision-making across the BU.
  • Drive adoption and standardization of AI-enabled solutions, embedding new capabilities into how the Business Unit operates.

Program Governance, Performance & Continuous Improvement
  • Establish and lead governance processes that ensure clear accountability, performance tracking, and decision-making rigor across initiatives.
  • Define and monitor KPIs tied to financial and strategic outcomes, ensuring transparency into progress, risks, and results.
  • Continuously enhance the BU's ability to prioritize, sequence, and execute strategic programs.

Change Leadership & Organizational Alignment
  • Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new processes, tools, and operating models.
  • Drive clarity, alignment, and engagement across teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Enable the organization to effectively navigate complexity while maintaining focus on delivering results.

QUALIFICATIONS

What You Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Marketing, or related field required.
  • 8-12+ years of progressive business experience, preferably within industrial distribution, manufacturing, or related industries.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives with measurable financial outcomes.
  • Experience influencing stakeholders across multiple functions and levels of leadership.
  • Experience managing associates or projects required.
  • Strong strategic thinking and structured problem-solving capability.
  • Ability to translate strategy into executable initiatives with measurable business impact.
  • Exceptional cross-functional leadership and stakeholder influence skills.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret financial, operational, and commercial data.
  • Ability to operate effectively in complex organizational environments and drive alignment across multiple teams.
  • Excellent executive communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.

Bonus Points If You Have:
  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience with structured program management methodologies and change management frameworks preferred
  • Experience in areas such as product management, commercialization, supply chain strategy, category management, or strategic program leadership preferred.
  • Experience in industrial distribution, MRO, or adjacent B2B categories.
  • Proven track record supporting or partnering directly with Business Unit or P&L leadership.
  • Experience driving initiatives with clear P&L impact (revenue growth, margin expansion, cost optimization).
  • Familiarity with Supplier/Sourcing strategy or vendor collaboration programs.
  • Exposure to digital transformation, data analytics, or AI-enabled business initiatives.
  • Experience operating in a matrixed, multi-business unit environment.
  • Background in top-tier consulting, corporate strategy, or strategic transformation role

  • A valid driver's license may be required.
  • Position requires up to 30% of travel
  • This position may require access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information ("ITAR") and/or Controlled Unclassified Information ("CUI")

Compensation starting at $112600 - $176000 depending on candidate location and experience.

The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries, and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
