We are searching for the best talent for a Sr. Manager Software Engineering & Portfolio Management professional to be located in Raritan, NJ

Position Summary

The individual in this role owns the vision, strategy, and prioritization while owning and driving technical delivery and value realization for MedTech Engineering Solutions and Portfolio & Project Management (PPM) technologies globally.

As part of the MedTech R&D Product Lifecycle domain, this role will work with business owners, product management, portfolio partners, and suppliers in to deliver technology solutions which drive business value & outcomes within the PLM-connected engineering capabilities across the CAx(CAD/CAE/CAM) ecosystem, and Portfolio & Project Management (PPM) solutions that enable investment planning, demand & capacity management, program execution, and governance across the product digital thread.

This individual will deeply understand user needs and expected business value, delivering solutions that unlock efficiency and drive progress against critical metrics to improve MedTech, specifically in the domain of R&D product lifecycle.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
  • Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for MedTech R&D Engineering Solutions and PPM capabilities, translating business outcomes into prioritized epics/features and measurable OKRs.
  • Lead product discovery with engineering, architects, and business stakeholders to define user personas, problem statements, value hypotheses, and acceptance criteria for platform and integration capabilities.
  • Maintain a healthy technical product backlog: write and refine epics/features/user stories, manage cross-team dependencies, and balance business value, risk, compliance needs, and technical feasibility across release horizons.
  • Establish the product operating model with platform and product teams (cadences, decision rights, intake/prioritization, and release readiness) to ensure transparent alignment, fast decisions, and predictable delivery.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture and security to ensure product requirements and non-functional requirements (performance, reliability, privacy, and security) are defined and met, and that solutions align to enterprise standards (APIs, data, approved technologies).
  • Drive product lifecycle decisions (build vs. buy, vendor selection, and capability evolution) and partner with engineering on solution design tradeoffs that optimize resiliency, compliance, cost, and time-to-value.
  • Own the CAx-to-PLM integration product capabilities (e.g., CAD/CAE/CAM authoring tool integrations, visualization, requirements/design controls linkages, and downstream manufacturing interfaces) to improve engineering efficiency, reuse, and traceability.
  • Own the MedTech R&D PPM product roadmap and delivery outcomes, defining capabilities for demand intake, portfolio prioritization, project execution, financial tracking, resource/capacity planning, and integrated reporting.
  • Accountable for product change control, risk management, and documentation needed to operate in a regulated environment (GxP/SOX/ISRM), ensuring release readiness and auditability across the platform and integrations.
  • Continuously improve the product using telemetry, insights, and user feedback; identify automation, AI opportunities, manage technical debt priorities, and publish consumption guidance and best practices for platform capabilities.
  • Support product operations including intake/triage, access and environment readiness, and coordination of operational controls (ISRM, GxP, SOX, asset management) in partnership with run/operate teams.
  • Provide technical product leadership across cross-functional teams (product, engineering, architecture, quality/compliance, and vendors) and, where applicable, manage and develop team members to deliver roadmap commitments.
Qualifications

Experience and Education:
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related field highly preferred
  • 10+ years performing progressively advanced duties as specified below


Skills:
  • Demonstrable experience leading teams of employees and/or contractors, including goal setting and career development
  • Demonstrable experience leading multiple global efforts with time & cost related constraints in a fast-paced regulated environment
  • Experienced in software product development lifecycle, leading a product backlog, managing release plans, removing blockers and leading teams operating in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Strong facilitation, collaboration & influencing skills; ability to form relationships, empower and collaborate at all levels in the organization and interact optimally across the regional and global organization
  • Proven track record to tackle problems head on and think creatively about technology solutions to execute against a business or program need providing technology and resource estimates and plans.
  • Strong commitment to continuous process improvement
  • Experience in vendor management, and creating technology product vision and strategies
  • Experience in building and integrating products with platform, data management, API architecture/design, and Cloud Native technologies
  • Hands-on experience across the CAx ecosystem (CAD/CAE/CAM) and its integration to PLM to enable the digital thread (authoring tool integrations, visualization, requirements/design controls traceability, automation, and engineering change/configuration management).
  • Knowledge of engineering integration patterns and data standards for CAx12PLM interoperability
  • Experience delivering Portfolio & Project Management (PPM) solutions for regulated product development (demand intake, portfolio prioritization, stage-gate/governance, scheduling, financials, resource/capacity planning, and portfolio reporting/analytics).
  • Ability to define PPM product success measures (OKRs/KPIs), establish intake/prioritization processes, and drive adoption and change management with global R&D stakeholders.
  • Experience engineering products over their lifecycle in a multi-team / channel context
  • Demonstrates AI Fluency-the ability to use and evaluate AI technologies responsibly (with a primary focus on generative AI in the workplace)-to improve productivity and decision quality while maintaining human accountability, managing risk, and complying with applicable governance, privacy, security, and policy requirements
