Responsibilities

Summary :The Sr Manager, Software Developmentwill build and manage a high performing, collaborative, and inclusive team to achieve diverseobjectivesin replicable, scalable ways. This positionwill develop and execute a strategy that focuses on effective and efficient designs, test and resilience processes, integration across dependent software and service components, improve common frameworks, tooling, and reuse where applicable. The incumbent will ensure alignmentwith controls, procedures, and tooling which support our desire to deliver a world-class set of services in a predictable manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Directs the software development lifecycle, including design, budgeting, and implementation. Provides early insights on the impact of new initiatives on existing systems and infrastructure.
  • Team & Talent Management: Manages a team of developers, third-party vendors, and interns. Sets clear goals, conducts performance reviews, and fosters a culture of accountability and continuous professional growth.
  • Technical Oversight: Conducts architectural reviews and provides technical guidance for a polyglot environment. Preferred exposure to .Net (C#), Go (Golang), and modern Frontend technologies (React/Angular) to ensure scalable, high-performance delivery.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversees on-call support processes and incident response protocols. Leads post-incident reviews to identify root causes and implement long-term preventative measures.
  • Innovation & Research: Researches and builds leading-edge technology solutions that are replicable and scalable, aligning with the company's innovation mandate.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partners with Product, Security, and internal departments to identify customer needs and define technical objectives.
  • Data-Driven Delivery: Monitors and optimizes team performance using industry-standard metrics (such as DORA metrics) to track deployment frequency, lead time for changes, and time to restore service.

Qualifications

Required Skills:
  • Experience: 7+ years of software development experience and at least 3+ years in a supervisory/management role.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong architectural understanding of microservices, cloud-native patterns (AWS/Azure), and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Process Expertise: Mastery of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience maintaining high-availability systems in a CI/CD environment.
  • Service Ownership: Proven experience managing production support, including setting SLAs/SLOs and managing rotation schedules for mission-critical services.
  • Developer Experience: A focus on improving the "Developer Experience" (DevEx) by optimizing toolchains and reducing cognitive load for engineering teams.
  • Communication: Ability to translate complex technical roadmaps into business value for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Ability to quickly react to changes in priorities and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Other/State Specific

This role pays between $ 145k to $ 200k , and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, responsibilities, experience, and location.
