The Data Platform and Observability Engineering team, located in Pleasanton, CA; Boston, MA; Atlanta, GA and Dublin, Ireland, is vital to enabling real-time insights across Workday’s platforms, infrastructure, and applications. We're committed to developing large-scale distributed data systems that support crucial Workday applications.
Our team provides software for the collection, ingestion, storage, analytics, and visualization of critical data assets. We manage hundreds of terabytes of data, encapsulating billions of messages produced daily by Workday applications and services.
About the Role
As a Sr Manager, Software Development Engineer, you'll:
Enable real-time insights across Workday’s platforms, infrastructure, and applications.
Develop large-scale distributed data systems that support crucial Workday applications.
Provide software for the collection, ingestion, storage, analytics, and visualization of critical data assets.
Manage hundreds of terabytes of data, encapsulating billions of messages produced daily by Workday applications and services.
Build data products by leveraging vast repositories of Operational product & observability data.
Construct foundational analytics tables with a canonical schema that power a majority of the analytics use cases.
Lead the development of AI /ML based correlation engine solutions for service outage detection.
Design and implement correlation engines to identify relationships between disparate data sources and enable root cause analysis.
Develop robust anomaly detection systems using ML algorithms to identify unusual patterns and potential issues before they impact business operations.
Manage cross-functional projects, using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to generate insights for strategic decisions and optimization opportunities.
Innovate on next-generation ML and AI platforms by leveraging existing data to uncover new opportunities.
Evaluate and implement new open-source and cloud-native tools and technologies as needed.
This position may allow for partial telecommuting.
Salary Range: $274,456 - $296,800
About You
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Five years (60 months) of experience in Java/Scala;
Five years (60 months) of experience in Python;
Five years (60 months) of experience machine learning and natural language processing;
Five years (60 months) of experience in advanced deep learning models;
Five years (60 months) of experience in data lake;
Five years (60 months) of experience in AWS;
Five years (60 months) of experience in S3;
Five years (60 months) of experience in Spark;
Five years (60 months) of experience in Kafka;
Five years (60 months) of experience in machine learning workflow orchestration; and
Five years (60 months) of experience in intelligent decision systems.
Other Qualifications:
Master's degree in Computer Science or related and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
Two years (24 months) of experience in Java/Scala;
Two years (24 months) of experience in Python;
Two years (24 months) of experience machine learning and natural language processing;
Two years (24 months) of experience in advanced deep learning models;
Two years (24 months) of experience in data lake;
