The
Senior Manager - Enterprise CMDB & IT Asset Governance is a critical technical leader responsible for the integrity, accuracy, and overall governance of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and IT Asset Management (ITAM) framework within an enterprise IT Service Management (ITSM) ecosystem.
This role owns the end-to-end CMDB and ITAM lifecycle-from automated device discovery via cloud API integrations to Configuration Item (CI) class governance, hardware asset tracking, and regulatory compliance reporting. The ideal candidate brings strong API engineering expertise, deep hands-on knowledge of modern Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) and Cloud Identity Providers (IdP), and proven experience maintaining enterprise-grade CMDB data quality in strictly regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities- Strategy & Governance: Lead the stabilization, transformation, and continuous governance of CMDB and ITAM processes, focusing on data quality, multi-source reconciliation, CSDM framework alignment, and sustainable lifecycle ownership.
- CMDB Architecture & Health: Administer CI class hierarchies, identification and reconciliation rules, deduplication logic, and automated data policy engines for bulk updating, retirement, and archiving across all compute, network, cloud, and application CIs.
- IT Asset Lifecycle Management: Oversee full hardware asset tracking from procurement through retirement. Govern multi-tier asset onboarding models (automated API pulls, service catalog requests, and manual updates) and streamline resolver workflows.
- API Integrations & Connectors: Own and maintain API connectors, staging tables, field mappings, and transformation scripts between the ITSM platform and external UEM/IdP platforms (e.g., Endpoint Manager APIs, OAuth authentication, dynamic reference updates).
- MID Server & Discovery Engineering: Design, deploy, and manage distributed MID Server clusters across segmented networks. Configure and tune automated discovery probes, patterns, schedule queues, and credential stores across hybrid (on-premises and public cloud) environments.
- Custom Development & Scripting: Build and maintain REST APIs, scripted integrations, server-side business logic, and automated workflow orchestrations using low-code flow builders and scripted components.
- Compliance & Analytics: Produce executive dashboards, health metrics, and audit analytics supporting GxP, regulatory, and corporate compliance standards.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) across technology teams, driving full autonomy, workflow automation, and architectural standard enforcement without requiring explicit direction.
Requirements & Qualifications- Experience: 8-12+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3-5 years leading teams in End-User Services, Digital Workplace, or IT Service Operations within highly regulated sectors (e.g., Healthcare, Bio-Pharma, Life Sciences).
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
- ITSM & CMDB Expertise: Deep knowledge of Common Service Data Model (CSDM), Identification & Reconciliation Engines (IRE), CI class management, and automated IT asset lifecycle tables.
- API & Integration Skills: Hands-on experience with REST/Scripted REST APIs, GraphQL, OAuth 2.0, JSON, data transform maps, and integration orchestrators.
- UEM & Identity Systems: Strong technical proficiency with enterprise UEM platforms (e.g., Microsoft Intune, JAMF, SCCM) and cloud Identity Providers, including API data pipelines and user-to-device mapping.
- Scripting & Tooling: Advanced experience writing server-side scripts, scheduled jobs, business rules, and building analytics dashboards using BI and reporting tools.
- Certifications (Preferred): Enterprise ITSM System Administrator / Developer certifications, ITIL v4 certification, or specialized ITOM / Governance credentials.
- AI Literacy & Languages: Practical working knowledge of modern AI tools to optimize productivity and data operations responsibly. Fluent in English; additional language skills (such as Mandarin) are an added advantage.
