As
Facilities Manager, you will oversee all aspects of facility operations for our St. John's office, ensuring a safe, efficient, and engaging workplace for employees and visitors alike. From managing building infrastructure, vendors, and workplace services to supporting health and safety, security, and business continuity initiatives, you will play a key role in maintaining an environment that enables our teams to do their best work.
Your ability to balance operational excellence with employee experience will directly contribute to a productive, compliant, and welcoming workplace.
What you'll do:- Manage daily facility operations, coordinating maintenance activities and supervising service providers to ensure a safe, functional, and well-maintained workplace.
- Oversee vendor relationships and contracts for services including cleaning, office amenities, and waste management; review and process facility-related invoices in accordance with procurement processes.
- Support the delivery of a hybrid workplace strategy, including local administration of workplace and seat-booking platforms.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement preventative safety measures; maintain physical security protocols in partnership with security vendors to ensure continuous site coverage.
- Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
- Oversee server room operations, environmental controls, emergency preparedness, and Business Continuity Planning (BCP) procedures to support operational resilience.
- The ability to complete small maintenance tasks around the office space i.e., plaster, touch up paint, fixing office furnishing.
What We're Looking For - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facility Management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
- Minimum of five years' experience in a facilities management or workplace operations role.
- Solid knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems, with experience conducting facility audits and inspections.
- Familiarity with building monitoring systems, backup power solutions, and power management equipment (e.g., uninterruptible power supply units).
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and project management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and levels of the organisation.
Nice-to-Have- Experience working in a global or multi-site organisation.
- Experience supporting hybrid workplace strategies and space management technologies.
- Hands-on experience with advanced building management, environmental monitoring, or facilities automation systems.
This position is located in St. John's, NL and requires in-office presence 5 days per week.
