Job Description

The quality system is structured according to corporate guidelines and policies, and that it is effectively implemented.

The components manufactured in Morganton meet specifications and customer expectations.

New programs are implemented to quality targets.

Purchased parts meet specifications and are fit for use.

Core Responsibilities
  • Establish objectives, prioritize work, and monitor performance for all functions within the Quality Department.
  • Supplier Quality (Receiving Inspection, PPAP, Gauge Calibration, Material Testing)
  • Advanced Quality Planning
  • Customer Quality (in-house returns, warranty and zero-mileage)
  • Product/process Quality
  • Quality System Auditing
  • Production Validation Testing (ES Test Laboratory)
  • Establish the quality assurance budget and monitor performance to objectives.
  • Establish the budget for quality cost, monitor performance and seek out opportunities for continuous improvements.
  • Decide the disposition of material in case of major nonconformance's and monitor the implementation of corrective action.
  • Report and monitor plant performance to quality objectives, identify problem areas and initiate improvements.
  • Coordinate /champion customer quality visits.
  • Decide the self-certification of part suppliers based on the results in the evaluation checklist
  • Perform quality system surveys or production readiness assessments at critical suppliers.
  • Review customer complaints, coordinate timely and accurate analyses, responses, and corrective actions.
  • Monitor progress in failure analysis and initiate timely responses to problems by major suppliers
  • Coordinate an effective SPC program throughout the plant and monitor the implementation
  • Review the results of internal Quality System Audits with the Plant Staff, and initiate corrective actions.
  • Evaluate quality information in case of product liability investigations, and coordinate the plant response to AUMOVIO's risk management.
  • As the management representative according to TS16949, decide the course of action to be taken in regard to quality systems, and coordinate implementation with the Plant Staff.
  • Provide a safe environment in the laboratories operated by QA.
  • Provide technical service to all departments as needed.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, quality, or a related environment.
  • 5+ years of experience leading quality functions, teams, programs, or systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with quality management systems and quality system principles, including IATF 16949 or similar standards.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing quality processes, product launch quality, root cause analysis, corrective action, process control, and customer quality expectations.
  • Ability to interpret and apply customer-specific quality requirements and performance metrics.
  • Proficiency with standard business systems and quality tools, with demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and support corrective actions.
  • 2+ years of experience managing direct reports or leading cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Automotive or similarly regulated manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with supplier quality, customer quality, advanced quality planning, production validation, or quality systems auditing.
  • Project management and production management experience.
  • Experience working with global or cross-functional teams.
  • Experience leading other leaders.
  • Knowledge of electronic brake, electronic suspension, or related automotive systems.
