Job DescriptionThe selected candidate will join the Value-Added Services (VAS) Pricing team, which strengthens pricing governance and supports monetization and pricing strategy across the VAS portfolio. Pricing offers Visa a competitive edge and is critical to driving revenue growth in support of our 2030 strategy.
The Senior Manager will lead key components of the VAS pricing governance operating model, ensuring pricing initiatives are prioritized, evaluated, approved, tracked, and implemented with rigor and visibility. The role will also improve pricing processes, policies, reporting, and governance forums.
This Individual Contributor role will partner with VAS portfolio pricing leads and stakeholders across Product, Sales, Commercial Operations, and other Finance functions. Based on business needs and individual capabilities, the role may also support cross-portfolio strategy, pricing proposals, business cases, and product pricing and packaging initiatives.
The ideal candidate brings structured problem-solving, strong analytical and data skills, sound judgment, and disciplined execution. You should be comfortable navigating a global matrixed organization, managing competing priorities, developing executive-ready materials, and influencing without direct authority.
Responsibilities:Pricing Governance and Operating Model:- Manage the VAS pricing governance process, including initiative intake, prioritization framework, review, approval, tracking, and reporting.
- Improve pricing policies, processes, tools, and decision frameworks to strengthen efficiency, consistency, transparency, and rigor.
- Coordinate governance forums and provide stakeholders with clear analysis, recommendations, decisions, and actions.
- Identify governance gaps and execution risks, and improve connections across pricing, product, commercialization, billing, contracting, and performance management.
Portfolio Analytics and Reporting:- Maintain an integrated view of the VAS pricing pipeline, including priorities, progress, dependencies, risks, decisions, and business impact.
- Identify and connect relevant data sources, define KPIs, and develop measurement frameworks to assess governance efficiency, pricing initiative performance, and business impact.
- Analyze complex data and develop executive-ready dashboards, presentations, and portfolio updates that translate findings into actionable insights.
- Support multi-year pricing planning by improving visibility into pricing opportunities and alignment with VAS growth priorities.
Pricing Strategy and Commercialization:- Partner with VAS portfolio pricing leads and Product teams on selected pricing, packaging, monetization, and commercialization initiatives.
- Develop value-based pricing recommendations using quantitative analysis, market research and competitive assessments.
- Build pricing proposals and business cases for new and existing products and support cross-functional implementation of approved initiatives.
Cross-Functional Leadership:- Build trusted relationships across Product, Sales, Commercial Operations, and other Finance functions.
- Lead cross-functional workstreams, facilitate alignment, and influence decisions through structured analysis and practical recommendations.
- Communicate complex pricing, governance, and performance insights clearly to senior, technical, and non-technical stakeholders.
This position is a Hybrid role to be based in either or Austin, TX or San Francisco, CA office locations. Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
QualificationsBasic Qualifications- 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications- 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
- Experience in pricing, business strategy, finance, management consulting, commercialization, business operations, portfolio management, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience managing governance processes, strategic programs, or cross-functional initiatives involving senior stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical skills and critical thinking, including the ability to structure ambiguous issues, identify and analyze relevant data sources, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Experience defining KPIs and measurement frameworks and using complex data to assess operational efficiency and business impact.
- Experience leveraging business intelligence tools, such as Tableau; experience with AI-enabled tools is a plus.
- Financial and commercial acumen, including experience developing business cases and evaluating growth opportunities and strategic trade-offs.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, including developing executive-ready materials and driving alignment in a global, matrixed organization.
- Strong project and portfolio management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain attention to detail, and drive work to completion.
- Experience with pricing, packaging, monetization, or go-to-market strategy is preferred.
- Experience in payments, fintech, technology, or another complex B2B business is preferred but not required.
- Results-oriented and comfortable managing urgent priorities, navigating ambiguity, and giving and receiving constructive feedback.
Information for US ApplicantsFor roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $134,800 to $240,100 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
