Hiring Salary Range: $137,700.00-178,200.00 / year

Job Purpose:

The Manager, Project Management Governance is responsible for ensuring effective governance of project management and project controls. The role is accountable for long-term organizational performance through strong oversight of compliance, quality assurance, operational integrity, and risk mitigation. This position leads a specialized workforce, drives continuous improvement, and cultivates strategic relationships to support the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of divisional and enterprise objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Management Governance, Standards & Process Leadership
  • Lead the development, implementation, and sustainment of integrated Project Management and Project Controls processes.
  • Manage the rollout, adoption, and continuous improvement of governing documents, including standards, procedures, and methodologies.
  • Maintain governance documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with industry best practices and organizational needs.


Project Life Cycle and Stage Gate Governance
  • Govern Project Stage Gate processes by setting review standards, evaluating outcomes, and guiding managers on prioritizing findings and advancing actionable recommendations.
  • Provide support to project charters and business case development.


Quality Assurance & Compliance
  • Govern quality assurance activities, ensuring comprehensive reviews and audits that validate compliance and identify systemic risks.
  • Prepare and update project management quality assurance plans.
  • Ensure consistent interpretation and application of legislation, regulations, and industry standards across operations.
  • Maintain accountability for safe, efficient, and compliant execution of all projects and programs by establishing expectations and monitoring performance.


People Leadership & Talent Management
  • Lead a specialized workforce through subordinate managers and subject matter experts.
  • Set goals, assess performance, and ensure consistent evaluation practices across the division.
  • Approve development plans, coach leaders, and ensure effective workforce planning.
  • Oversee recruitment and selection for the team, ensuring people-related decisions align with organizational policies and values.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

Physical Requirements

Working Conditions
  • Work Setting: Primarily office-based with a hybrid schedule; quarterly visits to industrial sites and operational facilities may be required.
  • Site Environment: When on site, exposure to noise, dust, temperature variations, and uneven terrain is possible. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required by site protocols.
  • Travel: Occasional travel (up to ~15-25%) within the region to project sites, partners, and conferences; quarterly overnight travel may be required.
  • Schedule: Core business hours with flexibility for peak periods, critical milestones, and urgent operational issues; occasional (expected monthly) evenings or weekends may be required.
  • Safety & Security: Compliance with all safety procedures and access controls; role may require eligibility for site access and adherence to safety-sensitive rules while in operational areas.
