Position Overview

LINC is seeking an Operations Manager to lead our cross dock operation supporting GM Lake Orion Assembly in Lake Orion, Michigan. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the operation, including safety, service, quality, productivity, and employee performance while ensuring uninterrupted material flow in support of General Motors' production requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for the cross dock operation supporting GM Lake Orion Assembly.

  • Lead and develop Floor Supervisors and hourly employees while promoting a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure the efficient movement of inbound and outbound freight while maintaining customer service expectations and production support requirements.
  • Oversee staffing levels, labor planning, scheduling, and productivity across all shifts.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with GM, transportation providers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all company, customer, and safety requirements.
  • Monitor operational performance and drive improvements related to safety, quality, productivity, inventory accuracy, and on-time delivery.
  • Manage operational budgets, labor costs, and overall financial performance.
  • Investigate service failures, freight discrepancies, and operational disruptions while implementing corrective actions.
  • Review and analyze KPIs, identifying trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Support employee development, succession planning, coaching, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations.
  • Lead startup activities, process improvements, and customer-driven initiatives.
  • Promote a positive work environment focused on employee engagement and retention.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent leadership experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in logistics, transportation, warehousing, manufacturing, or distribution.
  • Experience managing supervisors and large hourly workforces.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
Preferred
  • Experience supporting automotive, OEM, or Tier 1 operations.
  • Knowledge of cross dock operations, transportation management, material flow, inventory control, and customer service.
  • Experience with WMS, TMS, ERP systems, and KPI reporting.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and operational excellence programs.
  • Previous experience managing multi-shift operations.
