POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Manager, Medical Information is a member of the Medical Affairs organization responsible for the development, maintenance, and execution of Medical Information activities to ensure accurate, balanced, and compliant communication of Rigel products. This individual oversees the creation, review, approval, and lifecycle management of scientific response documents and serves as a Medical Information subject matter expert, collaborating closely with cross-functional partners including Medical Affairs, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Commercial, and Quality. The Senior Manager ensures timely and scientifically accurate responses to unsolicited medical inquiries from healthcare professionals, patients, and other stakeholders while maintaining compliance with company policies, applicable regulations, and industry standards. The role also requires developing and maintaining expertise in assigned therapeutic areas and products and supporting medical review activities and field medical initiatives as needed. This position reports to the Head of Medical Information at Rigel.
Salary Range: $155,000 to $190,000
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Create and update MI response documents.
- Respond to unsolicited requests for medical and scientific information regarding Rigel products.
- Ensure all medical information content is scientifically accurate, balanced, current, and compliant with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Review and interpret clinical trial data, publications, congress presentations, real-world evidence, and external literature to support medical information activities.
- Develop and maintain scientific and therapeutic area expertise for assigned products and disease states.
- Generate Medical Information metrics and analyze medical inquiry trends.
- Perform appropriate medical review for promotional materials.
- Provides support for national scientific meetings on behalf of the company.
- Maintain the external facing medical information platform for Rigel.
- Support vendor management activities, including oversight of Medical Information service providers and call centers when applicable.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: - Advanced clinical degree required. (PhD, PharmD, or MD preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a medical information role at a pharmaceutical company or at a medical communications agency. Experience within the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
- Experience with AI-enabled medical information technologies and digital innovation initiatives preferred (e.g. medical information web-portal).
- In-depth knowledge of Medical Information Industry guidelines and practices.
- Current working knowledge of the legal, regulatory and compliance regulations and guidelines
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, and the ability to work well in multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency with Medical Information databases, content management systems, literature search platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Travel will vary, plan on 10-20%.
