Job Description

The Production Manager is a core member of the OTECH Support Services Team. The Production Manager will ensure compliance with all safety, quality, technical and housekeeping standards across the Hanover Campus' warehouses. The Production Manager is responsible for managing all production and systematic functions in support of OTECH programs, which includes the activities of the Manufacturing, Assembly, and Field Specialist groups as well as other Production staff. The Production Manager interfaces with customers to ensure quality production and customer satisfaction. Strong analytical and personnel management skills are required. The Production Manager will utilize their knowledge, skills, and abilities to ensure safety, quality, cost, and schedule goals are met within the Production organization. The Production Manager is an in-office position located in Hanover, MD.

Responsibilities

The Production Manager will manage a group of diverse Production personnel and execute the following:
  • Maintain excellence in safety, quality, and compliance:
    • Comply with Oceaneering's safety, quality, technical, and housekeeping standards.
    • Ensure equipment issued to production personnel is safe and properly maintained.
    • Support Oceaneering safety and quality audits, initiatives, and investigations.
    • Support Toolbox Safety briefings
  • Achieve operational excellence:
    • Plan, allocate, and direct resources to meet OTECH and customer production goals.
    • Define, document, and control OTECH production processes and maintain high quality documentation.
    • Champion lean and operational excellence initiatives to support improved organization and flow of production activities.
    • Implement ERP driven production processes.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of ERP systems to monitor production activities, validate data accuracy, and ensure timely execution of manufacturing workflows.
    • Ability to analyze ERP dashboards and system-generated reports to track schedule adherence, labor charging, material availability, and work-in-progress status.
    • Skilled in supervising and guiding sub-functions that rely on ERP usage, including work order management, material transactions, labor entry, and routing updates, ensuring consistent and compliant system use across the team.
    • Capable of identifying ERP data discrepancies, initiating corrective actions, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to maintain system integrity and operational accuracy.
    • Experience supporting continuous improvement by using ERP insights to recommend workflow adjustments, reduce bottlenecks, and improve production throughput.
    • Oversee use of the OTECH warehouses to include space allocation, improvements, disposition of items, and general housekeeping activities.
    • Prepare and provide metrics to OTECH programs to provide visibility into the status of program production activities, as well as trends in manufacturing, planning, and assembly operations.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor's degree in management, technical discipline, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 15 years of demonstrated ability at a lead/supervisory level.
  • In depth understanding of production operations including but not limited to fabrication, machining, assembly, production scheduling, monitoring production flow, collecting production metrics.
  • Professional knowledge of applicable production concepts and principles and a familiarity with related business processes.
  • Excellent presentation, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, time management, decision-making, and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable in conversing at all levels within the organization
  • Demonstrated knowledge and effective use of the principles, practices, and procedures of a particular field of specialization and understanding of related engineering fields.
  • Ability to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance.
  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively in all aspects of the area of expertise.
  • Able to interact with Program personnel to solve any method or process issues that arise.

DESIRED:
  • TS/SCI clearance and Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph.
  • Master's degree or greater in related field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
