Full Job Description
Position Summary:

TheSr. Manager, Manufacturing Planning and Scheduling will report to the Sr. Director, Commercial Supply Chain Management and will be responsible forensuring uninterrupted supply of commercial products through a global network of Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs) and key suppliers. The candidate will serve as the central planning leader, aligning commercial demand, manufacturing capacity, inventory strategy, and financial objectives through a robust S&OP process. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in building scalable planning capabilities in a complex demand inputs environment. Finally, the candidate must be detail oriented and have exceptional organizational and communication skills, be capable of communicating strategic plans to upper management, summarize data, and effectively manage interactions with stakeholders across functions.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end planning processes including demand, supply, capacity, and inventory planning.
  • Develop supply strategies that ensure product availability while optimizing inventory investment and working capital.
  • Translate demand forecasts into production, procurement, and inventory requirements across the global supply network.
  • Conduct scenario planning and supply risk assessments to support business continuity and executive decision-making.
  • Identify any supply constraints and negotiate/resolve with the CMO any issues to meet the supply plan.
  • Recommend inventory policies, safety stock strategies, and supply planning parameters appropriate for commercial operations.
  • Serve as the primary supply planning leader for a globally distributed network of CMOs, contract packagers, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Partner with external manufacturing organizations to align production schedules, capacity plans, inventory targets, and material availability.
  • Develop metrics and KPIs to monitor manufacturing performance, capacity utilization, supply constraints, and inventory health across the network.
  • Identify and mitigate supply risks associated with global manufacturing operations, transportation, regulatory requirements, and supplier performance.
  • Drive long-range capacity planning across multiple manufacturing sites and contract partners.
  • Partner with and maintain regular contact with key stakeholders including Drug Product, Analytical Sciences, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Supply, Finance, and Program Management.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related discipline with a minimum of 6 years of Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry experience in cGMP manufacturing operations of biologics, or
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related discipline with a minimum of 8 years of Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry experience in cGMP manufacturing operations of biologics.
  • Demonstrated experience managing supply planning activities across a global network of CMOs and third-party manufacturing partners.
  • Proven experience leading and facilitating a formal S&OP process, including executive-level participation and decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of supply planning, inventory management, capacity planning, and supply chain risk management.
  • Ability to perform planning functions using various levels of sophistication in planning and reporting tools (from Excel through established ERP packages).
  • Experience supporting commercial product launches, building inventory strategies, network readiness, etc.
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate's geography, qualifications, skills, and experience.

For this role, the anticipated base pay range is

$150,000-$180,000 USD

At Vera, base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate will be eligible for an annual performance incentive bonus, new hire equity, and ongoing performance-based equity.
