Job Description

The Senior Manager, Manufacturing is responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. This role drives execution excellence on the production floor while supporting manufacturing strategy, continuous improvement, and workforce development.

The Senior Manager partners closely with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and R&D to ensure efficient production flow, resolve operational challenges, and support business growth. This role is accountable for delivering consistent operational performance in a regulated manufacturing environment through Lean principles and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Production Leadership & Execution
  • Lead daily production operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
  • Drive accountability and execution discipline across all production areas.
  • Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
  • Escalate and resolve operational issues impacting throughput or performance.


Operational Performance & Continuous Improvement
  • Drive Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives within production.
  • Improve key metrics including OEE, yield, scrap, downtime, and labor efficiency.
  • Implement structured problem-solving and root cause analysis to address production issues.


Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, and R&D to optimize production flow and resolve issues.
  • Support new product introduction, process transfers, and ongoing operational improvements.
  • Ensure alignment between production execution and broader site objectives.


Workforce Leadership & Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors and frontline teams.
  • Drive workforce planning, staffing, and shift optimization.
  • Build a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.


Quality, Regulatory & Safety Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to environmental health and safety standards.
  • Support audits, inspections, and corrective action implementation.


Performance Management & Metrics
  • Establish and monitor production KPIs including output, efficiency, yield, and downtime.
  • Utilize data and dashboards to track performance and drive improvements.
  • Report production performance to site leadership and implement corrective actions as needed.


Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or related field
  • 8-10+ years of manufacturing experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role
  • Proven experience leading production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred)


Preferred
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, or Business Administration
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt)
  • APCIS CPIM certification
  • PMP Project Management certification
  • Experience with automation, digital manufacturing, or Industry 4.0 technologies
