Full Job Description
Purpose of Role

Under Armour is looking for a Sr. Manager of Engineering to join its Engineering and Automation team in Baltimore, Maryland that supports its North American Distribution organization. This position will be responsible for implementing Manhattans Labor Management for the UA North America Distribution Network and will be a key team member in leading the Industrial Engineering for UA Greenfield 1 million sq. ft. Distribution House and other UA Industrial Engineering DH projects. The other projects will include MHE productivity initiatives and distribution capacity expansions at UA DH's. This role will collaborate closely with DH Operations management, IT and Supply Chain to identify and drive engineering projects that reduce cost, increase capacity and leverages MHE assets.

Your Impact
• Lead WM Manhattan Labor Management Software roll out Implementation across North American
• Distribution House Network working with consulting and Operations team. Drive decisions across
functional departmental team with collaboration.
• Drive continuous improvement cost per unit savings through Distribution Operations using Six Sigma best practice methodologies.
• Develop Time studies and labor standards for all DH jobs using industry standard elements.
• Production processing support, develop tools in WM, LM, WCS enabling Distribution production teams to plan daily, weekly, monthly workload relative to labor standards, MHE constraints, and order fulfillment complexities.
• Work with Financial Planning Team to develop budgetary tools for production planning labor requirements based on forecasted order volume, taking into consideration Capital Investment.
• Provide Capital Project justification or process improvements leveraging LM data to reveal efficiency gains.
• Coordinate and assist LM data interface integration with IT department to interface to payroll\accounting and WM databases.
• Work with Distribution Engineering team to select "right fit" automation, assist in developing ROI's
Capital Request documents with cost analysis.
• Present to DH Executive team LM strategy, project plan, and milestone accomplishments.
• Lead team to define LM tools, dashboards\reporting\displays to establish transparency for Operations Supervision and Management
• Post LM is implementation in DH, manages software configurations, modifications, and updated labor standards with site Industrial Engineer.
• Develop formal process and procedures for facilitating updates labor standards, drive to standardization for measurement across DH.
• Build step strategy to achieve CPU targets agreed to with Financial Planning and Accounting team.
• Provide detailed data analysis of labor standards through data query, export, and formatting.
• Develop Capacity models to identify maximum DH processing based on Labor standards and order
variables.

Qualifications
• Candidate will have bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or Production Engineering and a minimum of 5 years' experience in distribution engineering or logistics engineering. As part of 5 years' experience candidate should have minimum of:
• 3 years experiencing in developing or managing labor management ( preferably Manhattan)
• 5 years' experience in engineering Material Handling solutions in distribution environment
• 2 years' experience working in distribution design, lean and continuous improvement and understanding of building models.
• Experience gathering, developing Labor metrics with using software utility packages (MOST).
• Proficient in Excel, Access, Query, Power Point, MS Project, Auto CAD
• Prior Sigma Experience (Green / Black Belt)
• Working across functional departments within Supply Chain

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Baltimore Distribution Center (ODH).
  • Work Schedule: In office Monday - Friday
  • Travel: This position requires the candidate to be available to travel to UA's DH's and MHE vendors located throughout the US, up to 30% of time.

Base Compensation

$140,000.00-$180,000.00 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
