Sr. Manager, Indirect Procurement is a newly created role at the intersection of Popeyes brand strategy and RBI's Global Indirect Procurement function. This position owns the end-to-end indirect sourcing strategy for Popeyes -- responsible for approximately $300M in annual NRO (New Restaurant Opening) and indirect spend across categories including Kitchen Equipment & Smallwares (KES), FF&E, Signage, and General Contractor services.
This individual will serve as the primary Popeyes indirect procurement lead, embedded within RBI's Global Indirect structure and working in close partnership with Popeyes key cross-functional stakeholders. The role demands a strong category strategist who can independently drive sourcing initiatives, build supplier relationships, and deliver measurable savings for Popeyes franchise owners and the brand.
Responsibilities- Manage the Popeyes NRO indirect spend pipeline ($300M annually), identifying sourcing waves and prioritizing by savings opportunity
- Lead Strategic Sourcing processes: RFP/RFQ from market analysis through award, including supplier evaluation, commercial negotiation, and contract execution to ensure supply, control pricing, and mitigate risk
- Participate in "higher order" Procurement skills such as Industry and Market Analysis, TCO and "should-cost" analysis, all facets of Demand Management, SRM and Risk Mitigation
- Support RBI Global Indirect Procurement processes, tools, and standards, including data integrity in procurement systems
- Generate and deliver cost savings
- Implement effective, comprehensive Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) programs
- Develop collaborative relationships with all RBI Brand partners and cross functional Popeyes counterparts in Supply Chain, Operations, NPI, Finance, Legal, Marketing, etc.
- Leverage relationship with category business leaders to develop an in-depth understanding of Popeyes's current and future business needs
- Stay current on new laws/policies that impact Popeyes's compliance relative to sourcing & supply contracts
- Ensure contract disputes and supplier issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Travel occasionally as business needs dictate
Qualifications- BS or BA in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Finance, Business, Engineering or other business-related fields
- 5-7+ years experience in Indirect Procurement, Supply Chain, or Operations
- Team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills as well as leadership capabilities
- Develops financial models to analyse deals and offers to determine viability and profitability
- Strong analytical skills (researching, analyzing and interpreting data)
- Exceptional organizational abilities, time management and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with restaurant NRO programs, kitchen equipment, FF&E, or construction-related indirect categories experience preferred
- QSR, food processing, retail or CPG experience preferred
- Advanced level in Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
