The Team

Fanatics Gift Card Business sells over 200 different gift cards through tens of thousands of ecomm and physical stores in more than 10 countries, serving our clients' fandom aspirations around gifting, self-rewarding, and business needs - and materially scaling it is a strategic priority for the company. The Global Gift Card Team operates as a high-velocity, entrepreneurial unit inside Fanatics, with the agility of a FinTech startup backed by the infrastructure of a global sports platform powerhouse: a highly collaborative, cross-functional team transforming, shaping, and scaling the business into a high-growth global acquisition engine, grounded in proactive ownership, creative problem-solving, and a shared passion for connecting sports fans worldwide to the brands they love.

Fanatics is seeking a Head of Global Gift Card Strategy, responsible for developing and driving the business and product strategy, marketing, and expansion opportunities to drive tangible outcomes toward long-term strategic goals. This role sits at the center of the gift card organization, providing the strategic framework and analytical horsepower that enables each functional team - Business Development, Operations, Marketing, Product, and Account Management - to operate with clarity and alignment. This role reports into the SVP, Gift Cards and offers exceptional visibility across the organization and exposure to high-impact strategic and operational initiatives.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead the development and ongoing management of the global gift card program strategy, including business, marketing, operations, product, international expansion, and organic and inorganic growth opportunities
  • Own the annual strategic planning process, including goal setting, roadmap development, and alignment across functional teams
  • Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and opportunity assessments to identify opportunities to scale and inform strategic direction
  • Build business cases, strategic recommendations, and KPIs for key initiatives, and present findings to senior leadership
  • Collaborate with our Bizdev lead on strategic initiatives and business development opportunities
  • Own integrated revenue and expense analysis, financial forecasting, and modeling; translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations using ROI and comparative analyses
  • Partner with data providers and technology teams to ensure decision-critical data is accurate, automated, and delivered in a timely manner; own and lead operational, product, and data projects across the organization for the gift card business
  • Manage multiple, competing priorities while providing steady leadership in fast-moving or ambiguous situations
  • Own and drive end-to-end execution and project management across complex strategic initiatives and cross-functional workstreams
  • Collaborate with internal and external business leaders and stakeholders to support strategic gift card initiatives
  • Serve as a strategic partner and analytical resource to the Business Development, Operations, Marketing, Product, and Account Management teams, helping each vertical operate more effectively
  • Develop frameworks, models, and analyses that support decision-making and prioritization across the gift card program
  • Help identify and sequence cross-functional initiatives to maximize program impact and ensure alignment against shared goals using data, financial, and risk-reward analyses
  • Track, synthesize, and report on program performance metrics across all verticals, translating data into actionable insights and recommendations for leadership
  • Travel occasionally as required

What We're Looking For:
  • 5-8 years of progressive experience in strategy, business development, management consulting, or a related field; experience in gift cards, payments, fintech, or e-commerce is a strong plus
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic frameworks and translate complex, ambiguous problems into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills; comfortable working with large datasets and building compelling, insight-driven narratives
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence without authority in a fast-paced, matrixed organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to, engaging, and influencing senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners
  • Highly organized with strong project management instincts and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • A builder's mindset - comfortable operating with ambiguity and energized by the opportunity to shape something from the ground up
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with experience delivering executive-ready narratives and recommendations
  • Ownership mindset, strong work ethic, and natural curiosity to proactively identify and pursue opportunities beyond what is explicitly requested
  • Collaborative, relationship-driven leader who thrives in ambiguity, manages competing priorities effectively, and balances strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • Passion for the sports fandom space
  • Ability to work in the NYC office 4 days per week
