The Department of Pathology has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager of GME Programs to work full-time on-site in Miami, FL.

CORE JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, GME Programs oversees the day-to-day administrative management of assigned program(s) within the department and works to ensure the successful implementation of all initiatives. The incumbent operates with the goal of delivering high-quality programs to the University faculty and staff and other key stakeholders. Furthermore, the Senior Manager, GME Programs serves as the liaison to leadership, faculty, students, and staff.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Serves as main point of contact for students and remains available to assist with inquiries.
  • Prepares, maintains, and reports on program effectiveness.
  • Assists with managing program budget by monitoring expenditures.
  • Stays abreast of market trends and legislation impacting program functions. Checks, verifies, organizes, and prepares grants, procurement, and other program relevant documents.
  • Supervises, monitors, trains, and evaluates program staff members to ensure compliance with applicable policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates logistics for program events and activities.
  • Works with other departments to increase program awareness.
  • Identifies new needs and emerging issues and develops new programs, initiatives, and resources. Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
  • Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.


DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS
  • The duties and responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist the Director of Education and Vice Chair of Education with Education Budget planning Assist in development of pathology undergraduate medical education curriculum
  • Participate in international training program curriculum development
  • Management of multiple ACGME-accredited Fellowship Programs including but not limited to:
  • a. All ACGME related items including but not limited to accreditation, meetings, and site visits
  • b. Onboarding, credentialing, and trainee portfolios
  • c. Didactics schedule at the discretion of the PD
  • Assist in planning department sponsored CME activities
  • Preparation of Education Division updates for Departmental Meetings at the discretion of the Vice Chair of Education
  • Review and revise education policies
  • Professional development to stay abreast of ACGME, GME and other professional/pathology education organizations

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in relevant field required

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

Experience with ACGME accredited programs and the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) Match process

Certification and Licensing:

TAGME Certification

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
  • Knowledge of business and management principles.
  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
  • Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.
  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
