Job Description

The Environmental Health and Safety Manager oversees all environmental and safety programs. This includes developing safety procedures and training and managing facility inspections to ensure regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Advise management on safety and compliance issues
  • Design and conduct comprehensive environmental and safety audits for compliance and continuous improvement
  • Develop and deliver safety training and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations and legislation
  • Maintain safety equipment inventory and ensure staff have all the necessary equipment
  • Maintain safety files, records and training database
  • Respond to health and safety issues and regulatory agencies


Qualifications

Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree: Minimum six (6) years of experience in people management. Minimum eight (8) years of experience in field. OR Masters Degree: Minimum four (4) years of experience in people management. Minimum eight (8) years of experience in field.
  • Experience in similar manufacturing environment/EHS industry


Preferred
  • Manufacturing safety experience and some regulatory knowledge and experience with hazardous waste
  • Manufacturing experience in safety and OSHA regulations
