Your RoleAs the regional Corporate Affairs lead, you'll serve as the primary communications partner for Digital Realty's Western U.S. markets. Working closely with Government Affairs, business leaders, media, and community stakeholders, you'll help shape our public narrative, support strategic initiatives, manage reputational risks, and ensure consistent messaging across the region. This role is ideal for a communications professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys combining media relations, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement to drive business impact.
What You'll Do- Lead corporate affairs and media relations activities across the Western U.S. region
- Partner with Government Affairs to align communications with policy and regulatory priorities
- Develop media strategies, pitch stories, and manage press inquiries
- Create engaging content for press releases, executive messaging, social media, web, and internal communications
- Support events, community engagement programs, executive visits, and milestone announcements
- Monitor media coverage and identify emerging reputational risks and opportunities
- Develop thought leadership opportunities for regional leaders
- Track and report on media performance and communications impact
What You'll Need- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Political Science, or a related field
- 8-10 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, media relations, or corporate affairs
- Prefer a background in technology, infrastructure, real estate, or data center industries
- Strong writing, storytelling, and content creation skills
- Experience building relationships with media, government affairs teams, and senior stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong judgment, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Occasional travel throughout the Western U.S. region and other company locations as needed
- Prefer experience supporting government affairs, public policy, or regulatory initiatives
Compensation range: $130,000 to $170,000 per year. This compensation range represents the Company's good faith belief as to what it will pay as a base salary for this position at the time of this posting.
