PAY RANGE
The Target Pay Range for this position is $199,300.00-$243,800.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $155,200.00 - $288,000.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

IMPACT YOU9;LL MAKE:
As the Sr Manager Commercial Relationship Management, you9;ll have the opportunity to shape the growth of BECU9;s Business & Community Banking organization while leading a CRE production team. You9;ll build and deepen complex commercial member relationships, bringing together BECU9;s full range of commercial lending and deposit solutions to create meaningful value for investor and Affordable Housing Commercial Real Estate (CRE) borrowers.
You9;ll step into a true player-coach role, balancing your own production responsibilities with the opportunity to develop the next generation of CRE producers. Through hands-on mentorship, coaching, joint client engagement and real-world deal experience, you9;ll help Associate Commercial Relationship Managers and other assigned resources strengthen their skills and expand their impact.
Your leadership will directly contribute to increasing BECU9;s CRE production capacity. You9;ll strategically leverage team members across prospecting, underwriting support, transaction execution and relationship management while helping them grow in business development, market calling, credit analysis, loan structuring, portfolio management and member relationship management.
You9;ll also manage complex member client portfolios with a focus on delivering strong member outcomes, seamless operational execution, sound credit and risk practices, and an exceptional member experience. Working closely with internal business partners, assigned Neighborhood Financial Centers (NFCs) and external partners, you9;ll help turn BECU9;s strategic objectives into meaningful results for members, communities and the organization.
To join our dynamic team in this role, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, CA, AZ, TX, NC, SC, GA, or VA. If you9;re located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance to our Tukwila Headquarters (TFC), we encourage you come into the office on Tuesdays & Wednesdays each week. For those candidates that live outside the commutable distance to TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be primarily remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment.
WHAT YOU9;LL DO:
- Build & Grow Relationships: Identify, develop and manage commercial relationshipsincluding CRE and Affordable Housingthrough a systematic sales performance management process that includes targeting, marketing, calling and regular follow-ups.
- Strengthen Client Partnerships: Collect and manage business client (member) relationship financial information while communicating regularly with members/businesses and Business Credit Administration team members to help ensure loans are approved, booked and funded properly and on time, while delivering an optimal member experience.
- Shape Credit Opportunities: Review applications and supporting credit information, assess the initial viability of credit applications, and provide clear, relevant comments to Credit Administration when submitting applications.
- Navigate Credit Decisions: Communicate declinations to prospects and clients/members in written or verbal form as required by credit union procedures and regulatory guidelines, bringing clarity and professionalism to every interaction.
- Manage Portfolio Health: Monitor your loan portfolio and communicate directly with borrowers as appropriate. Partner actively with Credit Administration to monitor required financial exhibit due dates and ensure financials are received from clients/members in a timely manner.
- Lead Through Complexity: Work with management/leadership to negotiate past due collections, workouts and default situations, helping navigate challenging circumstances while protecting member and organizational interests.
- Create Business Value: Optimize BECU revenues/return to member and business member value by focusing on high value-added relationships and transactions.
- Deliver Solutions: Bring product expertise, creative business solutions and timely, relevant responses to member needs.
- Protect the Portfolio: Ensure your respective business portfolio complies with the Credit Union9;s credit and risk guidelines.
- Represent BECU in the Market: Build local community and market awareness of BECU Business Services and financial solutions by actively representing the Credit Union at real estate and industry events as a subject matter expert and/or keynote speaker, while maintaining ongoing participation in relevant industry organizations, affiliations and networking events (e.g., WMBA).
- Coach & Develop Talent: Lead and mentor a team of Sr Sales Support professionals, providing ongoing coaching in business development, prospecting, relationship management, underwriting and loan structuring.
- Build Capability Through Partnership: Conduct joint calling, networking and market development activities with assigned team members to accelerate relationship-building skills and business generation capabilities.
- Develop Future Producers: Create and execute individualized development plans for Sr Sales Support staff, building a strong pipeline of future CRE producers for the organization.
- Expand Market Reach: Grow BECU9;s presence in existing and emerging markets by leveraging team-based coverage strategies, mentorship and coordinated business development efforts.
- Increase Production Capacity: Strengthen overall production capacity by effectively leading and leveraging Sr Sales Support resources.
- Build a High-Performance Culture: Foster a collaborative, accountable team environment that promotes member service excellence, credit compliance and sustainable production growth.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor9;s degree in business, or equivalent work or educational experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of commercial relationship management experience with mid-sized businesses or commercial real estate investors.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience working with complex commercial real estate investors, interpreting and understanding their more complex financial statements.
- Minimum of 2 years of people management experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Excellent sales, cross-selling and business development skills using an established sales performance management process.
- Strong working knowledge of state and federal regulatory compliance laws, credit union credit policy, business & commercial loan products and services, accounting, marketing, sales, and financial and credit/portfolio management principles.
- Proficient verbal and written skills to effectively communicate at all levels in the organization, including executive management.
- Proven experience leading through influence while developing junior bankers, relationship managers or sales professionals.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and develop commercial lending professionals in team-based sales environment.
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills. Ability to assess credit risk in CRE and Affordable Housing opportunities.
- Thorough understanding of product profitability and pricing analysis.
