Job Description:

We are searching for the best talent for Sr. Manager, Business Risk Management. This hybrid work position will be in Beerse or our East Coast USA R&D hubs.

Position Summary:

Business Risk Management (BRM) Sr. Managers provide practical risk management support, guidance, and facilitation to functional business partners and study teams. The position is responsible for implementing established BRM processes, tools, and practices to support consistent risk identification, assessment, mitigation planning, monitoring, and communication across J&J Innovative Medicine R&D.

Principal Responsibilities:
  • Implement established capabilities, methodologies, standards, and risk management practices across designated functions and study teams.
  • Assist with the deployment of risk management technologies, including management of user access requests, to promote adoption of a standard ways of working.
  • Support functional and study team risk discussions by facilitating risk identification, assessment, mitigation planning, monitoring, and escalation as needed.
  • Provide independent review and monitoring of business partner risks and promote clear risk communication to support transparency.
  • Help functional teams apply BRM processes and tools during periods of uncertainty, including appropriate documentation of risks, issues, actions, and decisions.
  • Contribute to metrics, analytics, and reporting activities that support monitoring of risk trends and areas requiring management attention.
  • Participate in relevant functional reviews, study team discussions, committees, and governance forums to provide BRM input and follow-up.
  • Build effective working relationships with functional stakeholders, study team members, R&D Quality partners, and BRM colleagues to support consistent adoption of risk management practices.
  • Stay current on applicable BRM practices, tools, and relevant industry trends to support effective implementation.
  • Promote a positive risk culture and smart risk taking.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Principal Relationships:

Works closely with functional business operations leads, study team members, BRM colleagues, and R&D Quality partners. Coordinates with relevant cross-functional stakeholders to support implementation of BRM processes and capabilities at the functional and study team levels.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • BS degree or equivalent, preferred areas of study include Business or Scientific Discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years in Pharmaceutical, Healthcare or related industries.
  • In-depth understanding of drug development in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Working knowledge of portfolio risk management, crisis management and business continuity, or enterprise risk management, with ability to apply established practices in functional or study team settings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and confident presenter.
  • Ability to summarize complex issues and share key insights.
  • Professional maturity to partner effectively with clinical study teams, functional leaders, business office colleagues, and cross-functional stakeholders.
